Tree house, tiny home, shipping container, luxury hotel - the Forest Container is all of these things. Set in a lush forest valley, this is an incredible and unique place to stay. The property is within the Cuyuna mountain bike area, between the Yawkey and the Cruser's Kettle trailheads. There is a fire ring as well as a great deck upon which you can camp or otherwise relax and enjoy the view of the forested valley. The container is heated and cooled, and the container has a luxurious warm tiled shower, sink, toilet (cassette style), power and of course, as pictured, a beautiful small bedroom and living room. Coffee machine and mini fridge included on the deck. 👍🏼Glamp in style in this one room converted shipping container elevated like a steel treehouse in the beautiful woods near the Cuyuna Mountain Bike trails. The interior is efficient and luxe, making the most of limited space within the 8′ x 20′ container. Just like most hotel rooms, there’s no kitchen but there is a mini-fridge and coffee machine. Built for the year-round Minnesota climate, it features a spray foam shell, triple-glazed windows and doors, solar powered HVAC, LED lighting and hydronic in-floor heat. The water system is self-contained, with a 250-gallon water tank that supplies an on-demand water heater. A high-end, roomy shower keeps a body happy. Enjoy the sunset after your ride on the huge wrap-around deck or around the campfire. The container has one double bed. The Hipcamp software displays it “sleeps 4” but that is the max amount of people that can rent here. You’ll want a tent for those not on the double bed. Please note that the toilet is dry flush style, and although it works great, we do require that you tie up and dispose of your waste at the end of your visit. Thank you!

The Forest Container
We loved this place. Beautiful scenery. Really nice area to sit and soak up some sun om the porch, yet enough color to enjoy the day outside. AC worked great. The dry toilet threw me off a bit. Was definitely a first for me, but other than that it was a pretty cool little place to stay.

Overall we had a wonderful experience, but running out of water and the toilet situation is not something we enjoyed dealing with. It would be nice to know how long the water would last. Direction to get to the container could be a little more clearer.

This was a beautiful location and it made us feel like we were camping deep in the woods. The stay was close to many small towns with cute shops, bars, and places to eat (and fish!). I loved sitting on the deck and drinking coffee early in the morning and sitting around the campfire at night. The host was so easy to communicate with and helpful. I'm already looking forward to staying here again!

We stayed at the forest container for a getaway with my wife and I. We had a great experience, the container is really unique and cozy place to stay in and fairly remote feeling while still being real close to Crosby and MTB trails. We would come visit again!

Honest Service, Cozy Spot
Thomas responds to messages within minutes and was able to solve one small issue we had within the hour. He is kind and it is clear that guest satisfaction is the top priority. The interior decoration is enough to make a guy who went tent camping all his life get pretty used to this ‘glamping’ stuff. The remote control HVAC and heated flooring are perfect for a return from a hot afternoon hike or a chilly night. Comfty bed and serenely quiet. Wall plugs conveniently placed all around and well lit. If you’re looking to eat away, it’s got everything you need, nothing you don’t, and terrific hosts if anything comes up. Book it while you can!
