Tree house, tiny home, shipping container, luxury hotel - the Forest Container is all of these things. Set in a lush forest valley, this is an incredible and unique place to stay. The property is within the Cuyuna mountain bike area, between the Yawkey and the Cruser's Kettle trailheads. There is a fire ring as well as a great deck upon which you can camp or otherwise relax and enjoy the view of the forested valley. The container is heated and cooled, and the container has a luxurious warm tiled shower, sink, toilet (cassette style), power and of course, as pictured, a beautiful small bedroom and living room. Coffee machine and mini fridge included on the deck. đđźGlamp in style in this one room converted shipping container elevated like a steel treehouse in the beautiful woods near the Cuyuna Mountain Bike trails. The interior is efficient and luxe, making the most of limited space within the 8Ⲡx 20Ⲡcontainer. Just like most hotel rooms, thereâs no kitchen but there is a mini-fridge and coffee machine. Built for the year-round Minnesota climate, it features a spray foam shell, triple-glazed windows and doors, solar powered HVAC, LED lighting and hydronic in-floor heat. The water system is self-contained, with a 250-gallon water tank that supplies an on-demand water heater. A high-end, roomy shower keeps a body happy. Enjoy the sunset after your ride on the huge wrap-around deck or around the campfire.
The container has one double bed. The Hipcamp software displays it âsleeps 4â but that is the max amount of people that can rent here. Youâll want a tent for those not on the double bed. Please note that the toilet is dry flush style, and although it works great, we do require that you tie up and dispose of your waste at the end of your visit. Thank you!

Weekend getaway
We enjoy camping so this was a nice compromiseâŚa warm place to sleep and relax with the enjoyment of cooking outside over a fire. Comfortable, warm, and relaxing. Would recommend.

We absolutely loved the location & ambiance of the container house! We enjoyed the large windows and patio for slow mornings and star gazing at night.âşď¸ We rented mountain bikes in Cuyuna which was less than 10 minutes from the rental and the downtown area was perfect for dinner & drinks.

EPIC

Epic spot! The fall views were phenomenal & the added amenity of having the shipping container sleeping space made camping so fun. The perfect spot for families, boys ran around the woods, built forts, and explored. The spot has everything you need. There was enough room to bring our BFX adventure trailer too. Highly recommend. đ

Had booked it for two nights, easy to find even in the dark. However, once we got it open and entered the smell or urine mixed with air fresheners was overwhelming.
To make matters worse, neither window worked. We managed to find a couple sticks in the dark to prop open the window to bring in some fresh air. However, it was nauseating.
We got up at 7am and promptly left 9 hours later and found a hotel for night two.
Zero chance I would recommend this place.

Easy Camping
The container worked great for us. Itâs only 1 1/2 miles from a cute town with lots of stuff, but it feels pretty remote being surrounded by the woods. There is a house that is slightly viewable, but it wasnât a big deal for us. The space is small which wasnât a big problem as the weather allowed us to be mostly outside. The fridge was helpful and it was certainly nice to have the shower. The toilet wasnât that big of a deal other than maybe it could be cleaned better between guests. There was an odor that we covered by burning a scented candle most of the time. Iâd suggest bringing canvas chairs as the provided chairs are not that great for long stretches of time. I was also thankful to have brought a roll of paper towels. Think campingâŚyou still need to bring some stuff, there are just a few better amenities.

We loved this place. Beautiful scenery. Really nice area to sit and soak up some sun om the porch, yet enough color to enjoy the day outside. AC worked great. The dry toilet threw me off a bit. Was definitely a first for me, but other than that it was a pretty cool little place to stay.
