Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
At Medicine Creek Farm, we raise grass fed beef and lamb and pastured pork and eggs. We direct-market our food to customers in the Twin Cities and Duluth, primarily through our website. We have been moved and inspired by soil health and what we've learned of regenerative agriculture's ability to heal the land. Hannah manages the daily farm operations, taking care of the animals and moving fences and flocks through the pastures to improve the soil. Meanwhile Jason has been hard at work building our farm infrastructure including our house, shed, remodeled camper trailer, and rebuilding an 1880s timber frame barn where we host our farm stay.

Timber Frame Barn Stay
Amazing Experience
Medicine Creek Farm spoke to us in a way that felt spiritual, motivating us to book 6 nights for our vacation. During our farm tour with Hannah, we learned about regenerative farming, deepening our resolve to do better by knowing where our food comes from and only sourcing humanely raised meats. We learned that regenerative farming dispels the myth that consuming beef/pork is unstainable; in fact, it is sustainable if raised through regenerative methods. My best description of the Timber Frame Barn Stay is Little House on the Prairie meets Chip and Joanna Gaines. It was comfortable with two bedrooms (one with a king), a comfortable open concept family room/large kitchen, and a large counter that seats 7. It was so comfortable that we only left the farm 2 out of the 6 days we were there. The other 4 days we stayed at the farm, enjoying the peace and quiet.  We read books, cooked in the kitchen, and enjoyed watching the farm activity all around us. We even got to feed a bottle to a little lamb. Another unique thing was the persistent, gentle wind across the pasture grasses. Finally, the night sky at the farm is magnificent. We could see the Milky Way; too-many-to-count planets, stars, and galaxies; and satellites jetting across the sky high above Earth. When you’ve seen a sky like this, it makes you realize how small we are AND how connected we are to each other and to the universe. Hannah and her family are wonderful hosts, and we would highly recommend their farm stay.

Great place to recharge
What a peaceful place. We loved feeding the pigs our food scraps every day! Hanna's dad was taking care of the property while she was away and was super friendly and took us to see the sheep and guard dogs and explained a lot about how the farm was built and how it is operated. The accommodations were super comfortable. We really enjoyed laying on a blanket each night to watch the Perseid meteor shower and the northern lights. We wouldn't hesitate to come back for another visit.
