Gabeshiwin Tipis village is the result of a vision given to Minwewebenis (Kevin) as he gazed over the woods and fields of his land. His desire is to share the experience of living in a tipi like his ancestors did decades ago on the Great Plains. The tipis are situated in an intimate village erected around a central pond.

Kevin is such a gracious host! He helped us bring our gear over, grabbed firewood, and even let us borrow his chairs. Such a neat place to camp.

Girls trip
Kevin is a friendly, accommodating and responsive host. When we arrived, he helped deliver our camping gear to our teepee in his ATV, and helped deliver it back to our vehicle when we left. The property is beautiful and well maintained. He has cots in the teepees. They started our fire for us. Highly recommended property!

A couple friends and I stayed in one of the Tipis after a concert at Grand Casino and we just loved it! I wish we would’ve had more time to just hang out there. Kevin was so helpful and friendly! There were cots in the tipi so we just brought sleeping bags, it was so easy! The campground was beautiful and peaceful, I slept like a baby. I will definitely be back, highly recommend!

Kid friendly, unique adventure!
What a cool experience to stay overnight in a tipi! Beautiful grounds and really kind, generous owners! They were sweet to put out a BDay sign since this trip was a birthday celebration! Easy drive from Twin Cities to Hinckley area if you want to getaway for a unique adventure. Lots of birds for bird watchers. Cots were available in the tipi which was a big help and there is also free firewood. Bring portable chargers or power banks if you need to keep things charged. Kevin was really nice to answer questions about tipis and Ojibwe history. This is a kid friendly, family friendly place. We would love to go back sometime!
