Wilderness Lite, 38 acres of highland Maples and rustic river front Cedars. The property includes rolling terrain with walking trails. Rustic camping in the comfort of a16’x10’ charming insulated Amish cabin with king size sleeping loft. Bring your rustic camping gear but leave the tent at home. Perhaps best of all you’ll be less than 2 miles from a gas station/ party store for your convenience. The Lucy Elliott Cabin is a 16’x 10’ Amish Cabin. It’s designed with peaceful relaxation as the goal. This is a rustic cabin so fetch water, collect wood and walk to the outhouse are part of the experience. Bring your rustic camping gear, sleeping bag , sleep mat, water filter, flashlights, propane heater and hiking boots. The sleeping loft has a king size memory foam topper in a mattress cover. What you’ll find is a beautiful forest next to a woodland stream. We have both 2 tracks and single tracks to hike but a lite foot also welcomes you to wander the no track woods as well. We will provide a Gas grill with a side burner and propane. Basic pots pans and dishes. There is a 2+gallon Igloo cooler ( fill with hot water) and a wash basin for dishes and hand washing. Directly behind the cabin down a 60’ path is a year round spring fed stream to fetch water with the hand pump. Inside the cabin you’ll find a battery power station for LED string lights and powering up phones. There is spotty signal usually available on my ATT carrier. The cabin has a small selection of books of various topics. The art and wall hanging are reflective of nature and the first people whose stories were often told by my Grandmother Lucy Elliott. The site is accessed by a 1/2 mile + 10mph 2 track is easy 3 season driving in my Mini Van . Parking is just past the outhouse to try and keep the cars out of the cabin views. As far out as this feels sadly you’ll probably hear the distant traffic of morning rush hour on 131. There is a distinct feeling of wilderness here but you are not alone so please be a peaceful guest so we can continue to offer this spot for you adventures.
