Site 3- Lake Side East

Great spot with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Site 3 was private and right next to the beach. Highly recommended!

Outrageous Sunset Views

We loved tent camping here! Waking up to views of Lake Michigan and falling asleep to the sounds of the lake. Perfection! We spent a lot of time on the beach and just could not get over looking up from our campsite and being right ON the lake! The beach was pretty gentle and would have been great for swimming if it hadn't been so cold out. This site or Site 2 are the best for Lake views and privacy, although both are a lot smaller than Site 1. Could fit two small tents. Our pup loved the off leash time and even took it upon herself to adventure on the beach solo a little. But she was always in view! It's a bit of a trek from the car to the site. Site 2 is slightly closer, but all the sites are walk in. Incredible experience. Would definitely camp here again! You can't beat that view of Lake Michigan at sunset!

Nice campground close to the beach

This campground is close to the beach and small, which I prefer. The provided firewood was much appreciated and I loved the native plantings throughout the campground. The water pump worked perfectly and I was grateful to have water access on site. I forgot to download the map before I got there, so finding the beach property proved to be a bit difficult, but I ended up going to the little Cross Village beach down Waterfront Dr. There is a small cul de sac at the end. I would say the only drawbacks to this particular site (Site 8) is that there is no shade and the porta potty needs to be emptied a bit more often. It got very full over the weekend and needed to be emptied. Oh, and bring your own TP, though I know most campers do. I left a roll in there when I left. This campground is close enough to the Dark Sky Park and Wilderness to go for the day. I would definitely stay here again.
