Glamping at Claire’s Cottage
It was okay. The shower needs a mixing valve badly. It was way to hot to be considered safe to use. There was not a single towel or even one blanket in the unit. I understand the host did indeed message me on hipcamp to inform me of these conditions but it was 3 months in advance. I think just sending a simple quick text message to the guest 1 day out and then a quick welcome text day of would have helped us out immensely. You have to understand that this property is not about an hour north of anywhere one would be able to purchase towels or a blanket. It is quite pretty but overall too expensive for the amenities offered imo.

Tiny house with sunset vibes
Claire's cottage was even better than we expected. There is an incredible sunset view over the cherry orchard in front of the house -- you can see the water horizon over the trees. The lake itself is accessible via a short walk down the road (there is a staircase to the rocky beach, from a public park). Claire's cottage is simple and well-built, with a generous water tank and solar panels. The outhouse (a primitive "composting toilet") is about 20 feet away from the tiny house and the front porch and rollable wood chaise lounge are great relaxation spots. We happened to be in Michigan during August meteor showers, so despite the bright moon we saw lots of shooting stars, far away from light pollution. Northport is a cute little town a few minutes away by car with SUP/Kayak rentals, a few restaurants, a book store, and Big Dipper ice cream. Come visit the tip off the little finger of the mitten!

Glamping at Claire’s Cottage
This was a really cute place to stay! It felt very cozy and there was an amazing view of Lake Michigan from the little deck. Overall, my sister and I had a nice time in the tiny home. The only issue we dealt with was the shower not functioning correctly - even set to the coldest temperature, the water quickly became scalding, meaning we couldn’t really take a shower after a sweaty and sandy hike in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area and had to use mugs of cold water from the kitchen sink. Clare was an awesome host and was helpful answering questions. The shower thing may have been a fluke, as everything else about the tiny home was cool. :)

My partner and I had a great stay! Everything is as pictured. The hot shower was a plus! It was a nice, quiet retreat from city life. Close enough to lots of cute towns and beaches.

The cottage tiny home was absolutely adorable! Perfect space to zen out and enjoy the open land. Beautiful spot for a sunset view and stargazing. Had just about everything you could need for a few nights away. Highly recommend!
