"Elysium Heritage Farm" is situated on 120 acres in Northeast, MI surrounded by woods, trails, ponds and canals. Enjoy access to a small farm that includes fainting goats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and more. Bring your pole and try your luck at some catch and release fishing. Enjoy viewing numerous types of wildflowers, birds, and butterflies. Depending on the season, (and how quietly you walk the trails) you may experience a wide variety of wildlife species. Although we don't allow motorized ATVs, you are welcome to bring a golf cart. Most of the trails are improved enough to allow you access. The property is located just (5) miles off I-75 so it's also a convenient mid-trip destination for those on a longer distance excursion. In case you plan on fishing the local hotspots on Lake Huron (15 minutes away) and are trailering a boat, there is plenty of area to park your rig during your stay. It's only a ten minute drive to Pinconning, where you can experience Michigan's "Cheese Town" and all it has to offer. There's a grocery store, numerous cheese shops, and a variety of party stores and restaurants. For the outdoor enthusiasts, don't miss out on going to the ever-famous "Northwoods Wholesale Outlet". Also nearby is the "Saganing Eagles Landing Casino" in Standish. We have resided here for over 30 years and can assist you in many ways to get the most out of your visit. By the way, the definition of the word "Elysium" is "Place of perfect bliss" and yes, we labeled it that long before the movie with Matt Damon was created.

A relaxing getaway
We spent three nights at Elysium Heritage Farm and loved every minute of our stay. We stayed in our motorhome at the farm camp site. This site provided an electrical hook up, a great deck next to the camper and a wonderful covered picnic table and fire pit. If you want to relax, this is the place. We enjoyed walking and riding our bikes on the numerous trails through the woods and along the pond and canal. Also had fun checking in with chickens and turkey that occasionally stopped by our campsite. Kim is a wonderful host who makes sure your stay is everything you want it to be. We will be back. Thanks Kim for opening up your wonderful property to us.

Roughing it!
We were pleasantly surprised with how isolated our campsite was! Due to the isolation we were able to hear all different types of wildlife, from crickets to owls, which made for a pleasant and restful experience. There is no running water or electricity, which we are well accustomed to with our vacationing experiences. They did provide a very clean and stocked outhouse with a composting toilet. I have a very strong sense of smell and was pleased to not have to hold my breath the entire time inside the outhouse (unlike when using portable outhouses). We did a short hike on the property to see the goats and other critters too. The host was very kind and pleasant to chat with. We will definitely recommend this host to our friends/family for their vacations too.

How can it get any better
This was our first experience with hip camp and my only concern is how can any other hip camp compare with this? We had four grandchildren with us, ages 8 to 16, and for 3 days they enjoyed fishing, pedal boat, kayaks, canoes. They also enjoyed visiting the animals, Mary Kate and Ashley, Dexter and Baby Girl, Gus, Stella and all the goats. We enjoyed the "camp racoons" in our site which were actually the turkey and chickens. My personal favorite was the quarter mile canal that you could kayak or canoe down. Really unique. The area we rented was called Farm Camp. We felt like royalty in the outhouse and in the outside dining area. There is also an outdoor barbecue kitchen with all kinds of utensils at your disposal. Kim was an excellent host and answered all our questions and met all our requests. To add to our amazing time was the perfect weather. It was in the low '70s during the day and chilly at night and in the morning which was warmed up by a fire in the beautiful fire pit provided. I could go on and on and on but I won't. I encourage you to come and experience it for yourself.
