Blooming Bus farms is a working urban flower, vegetable and fiber farm practicing sustainable, organic, natural farming practices. Spread out over 15 acres, upon completion, you’ll find 4 yurt sites and 3 byo tent sites. Working hard contributing to our compost are our alpaca and free range chickens. While this is a working farm, we try to not run any equipment before 10:00am! Inquire about reserving the entire property to host your group getaway!

Camper site 2

Great Stay

Melissa was very responsive and, I just loved the little 'touches' to setup of the campsite. When I arrived (late), she had tiki torches lit, which made it MUCH easier for me to pick out exactly where my site was. (Thank you!) Also, I found a jar of fresh picked flowers on the camp table, amazing! This campsite would be a fantastic place for folks in the Chicago area, with kids, to "get away" for a weekend. There are glamping tents, and then regular "campsites" like mine. My site was wooded, with on-property dirt roads, which would be awesome for kids on bikes (zero traffic.) For those like myself, this site was a great way to beat the Chicago traffic. Leave during evening hours (when traffic is lighter), drive about two hours, and sleep under the canopy of trees.

Camp site 1

Such a cute campsite!

We had a great stay! Melissa was so patient with my questions and didn't mind us arriving after dark. Our 24' campervan fit quite well and the campsite was adorable! We just stayed the night, but there seemed to be a volleyball net and other activities and my husband said the porta-potty was very clean. We didn't stay in one, but the yurts looked really cute too!! Melissa sent directions, a map, and lit some tiki torches so we could easily find our campsite. It was about 50 yards down the driveway, in the trees, so if a car drove past, we could hear it, but it's not a main road. We were a solid ten minutes drive from a main road and even further from the highway. We had a great night's sleep and we'll definitely return!

Camp site 1

Melissa is very kind and accommodating. This is my second time staying here but the first time during summer so I was able to actually walk around and see everything this time. The property is so cute and I love that there’s activities to do (volleyball/basketball/check out the alpacas) highly recommend staying here!
