Welcome to Wequamps Haven in South Deerfield, with one of the nicest views of Mount Sugarloaf and North Sugarloaf Mountain, which together form the body of Wequamps of the local native legend. We have one camper site available, located on the edge of our 40 acres of protected land. Your site is on the old farm road near open, farmed fields, behind a well settled neighborhood near downtown. It is out of site of the main road and most neighbors, but still close to all the amenities in town. Half the acreage is flat, tillable land currently farmed by local farmers. The rest is pasture and woodland located on the hillside, abutting state park land which is part of Mount Sugarloaf Reservation. The view of the mountains and open farmland is beautiful at any time of year and the hillside pasture is a great place to watch the sun set over the valley below. It is the perfect site if you want a quiet, peaceful place to relax without going too far from civilization. Since it is an in-town location, it is easy to get to, close to I-91 and Routes 5&10. We are centrally located between Northampton, Amherst and Greenfield, which are all a short ride away, along with all the restaurants and attractions they have available. There are plenty of places nearby to walk, hike, bike, fish, kayak and swim so you can take full advantage of all the region has to offer. You may see rabbits, groundhogs, deer, opossum and numerous birds on the property. We have a resident red-tailed hawk and often spot pileated woodpeckers. You may occasionally hear coyotes or owls in the distance. Feel free to stroll the old farm road or enjoy our large backyard and covered patio which are areas we are happy to share as common spaces with our guests. Explore the lush Pioneer Valley or the many hill towns in our cozy western Mass. mountain ranges for all the farm stands, antique shops, historic sites or outdoor activities you could possibly hope for within easy reach. There are too many wonderful sights to see to list here but let us know your areas of interest and we’ll be happy to help you find them. We will provide a small picnic table, trash can and recycling bin. A small fire pit will also be provided with plenty of firewood available for purchase and potable water can be accessed from the garden hose. Come and recharge mentally and physically in serene and calming surroundings or fill your plate with local foods, sights and activities. This campsite is situated next to flat farmland on an old farm road. It is a fairly flat, grassy area under trees and posted where to park. It is situated behind a well established neighborhood with reasonable privacy from neighbors. You will have the site all to yourselves except for the wild critters. Please keep your activities to the right of the hedges as posted to ensure your privacy as well as that of the neighbors. We have a guest bathroom available on the second floor of the main house. Please use the front door of the house to access the bathroom. There are no hookups at this site, but water, trash can, recycling and composting are available in the barn. Wood is also available in the barn to purchase for fires. You will need cash. Fire pit and small picnic table are provided. Your are welcome to use anything that falls from the trees for your fire, but please don't strip the trees for fuel. We have plenty of kindling to start your fire. You are welcome to use the covered porch and back yard behind the house for recreation. You can walk on the farm road or up to the pasture, just beware of poison ivy in the ditches and pasture. We can educate you on this if you are not familiar. Do not walk in the cultivated fields or pick or disturb the vegetables growing there. We rent the land to farmers and the crops are not ours, it is the farmers' livelihood. Please be respectful of that. There is plenty of room to pull in, back in, or turn your camper around on the farm road. The view of the mountains is amazing and we can explain the legend of Wequamps. Contact us for any other questions. Enjoy! Close to: Treehouse Brewing Yankee Candle Village Berkshire Brewing UMass Amherst Historic Old Deerfield Mount Sugarloaf State Reservation

Site is peaceful and the view is great. If you like open, grassy camping spots this is for you. Roxanne is a wonderful host - allowing guests to use her bathroom is extraordinary. Firewood and kindling is organized and very reasonably priced. Great places to eat just down the road.

What a beautiful, easy campsite. Close to town, but more importantly, Tree House Brewing! 3 miles I think. Roxanne was super easy and accommodating. Firewood was readily available and reasonably priced. Plenty of land for long dog walks and an immaculate view. Most definitely returning!
