Vintage van life - 1940's style
My night in the van was excellent! A window inside let's you stare out from the bed, the tent is equipped with blankets, matches, a lantern, and the pups love to know what you're up to. It was such an excellent and easy getaway, and Edwin is an incredibly responsive, helpful, and friendly host!

Pitch your tent in the Pasture
We had a great time in the pasture. Definitely a great spot for those who love dogs, stars, peace and quiet, and relaxing. This was our first Hipcamp experience, so I was not sure what to expect; Edwin gave us a wide berth and lots of privacy, but we knew help was nearby if we needed it. We left a day early because of the weather, but it was no reflection on this great site. Thank you.

Had A Great Time, We Will be Back
Let me start by saying my kids had a blast! They were asking when we were coming back even before we left, so please take what follows as a heads up rather than a criticism. That said, here are some things potential Hipcampera should be aware of when staying here.
1. Dung.
This was mentioned in one other review, so I wasn't surprised to see it. Keep in mind that you are staying in a pasture on an active farm. There is quite a bit of dung around BUT it's not like dog poop, it's dry and does NOT smell. We were able to find enough clear area to pitch 3 tents, so it's not like you'll be dodging it with every step.
Recommendation: Bring a pooper scooper or just a shovel just in case.
2. Dogs.
The dogs were sweet and the kids (11. 10, and 6) adored them. They were very patient with the kids who made up names for them. That said, they are working dogs on a sheep farm, so prepare for some herding. This comes in the form or a dog or two accompanying you to the (spotless!) porta potty usually with a bark or two. The barking mat come off threatening if you don't know better. Also, one of them marked one of my tents and blanket I put on the ground for staging stuff for packing in the van (we don't use it for sleeping). Also, one of them nipped my wife in the butt. Not hard (no bruising). Again we understood this as natural herding behavior. And NEVER EVER were the kids nipped or felt unsafe with the dogs!!
All of this is just FYI. We had a great time and we will be back!!

Best Pups in the World
First time using Hipcamp and first time to maple grove. We will be back, had a great time in the field. The 3 dogs were the highlight of the trip. They were so sweet and welcoming. All three spent time with us and were the best. We miss Belle and the other two. Pot-a-potty was extremely clean and well taken care of. The field did have a good amount of poop in it. (But hey it’s a farm) Will recommend to our friends and anyone else.

Sheep Safari in Classic Land Rover
This was our second visit to Edwin's place and we had just as much fun this time as we did last time. It rained a bit during our visit, but the pop-up tent on the roof of the land rover kept us nice and dry.
