Chilly Hollow
If you’re looking for a nice base camp with which to access Raven Rocks and the Appalachian Trail, the Shenandoah River or Watermelon Park, this is it! You’ll have a nice big shade tree and lots of wide open space to pitch a tent or park an RV at Chilly Hollow. The field is large enough to accommodate almost any RV or camper regardless of size. Though there aren’t any hookups nor any toilets for tent campers, there is a big fire pit that’s large enough for a group of friends to gather around after a fun day on the trail.
If you get tired of relaxing, stroll on down the lane to Nalls Farm Market. They’re rumored to have excellent baked goods and pies. Not a bad way to recover after a long bout of exercise. Oh and for all you wine enthusiasts, there are several vineyards not too far away. Pick up a bottle or two as you head into camp and then settle in for the night.
The host, Christopher, is a really nice guy. He’ll gladly point you in the right direction if you’re looking for outdoor activities! If you’re wanting to get away and you happen to be in Northern Virginia, give this spot a look!
