We have a beautiful forested mountain that sits at the southern edge of the GreenRidge State Forest. We sit on top of the Paw Paw tunnel and have access to the C and O Canal Trail. We view this place has nature's forest that we are stewards of. We are reclaiming this land that was clear cut over a hundred years ago for an apple orchard and then used as a sawmill and car dump. We have a beautiful deciduous and pine forest with an incredible scenic mountain top that can view the Potomac River at one end. Each day we are working the land to create a beautiful back to nature spot for campers, hikers, bikers, river and travel enthusiasts. Currently we are suited for being a “bring all your stuff with you” camping as we are completely off grid.

A really great camp trip for our family. Hiking the hill with our great was no joke, but worth it. Nice site with A LOT of wood available to burn. We did the hike to the Paw Paw tunnel and it was really neat! I recommend.

This was such a great spot! Kat & Tim were so helpful & their property is awesome. Everything from the ultra fresh local spring water, to the outdoor shower (with plenty hot water!) to the solar setup & permaculture work.. it was all so inspiring and lovely to see. I only wish I had more time to talk with them and to explore the area, so I hope to come back again! At the Potomac View site, it was a little hard to find a perfectly flat spot to park, but I eventually wriggled into a good area and all was well. The campsite had roaming signal for Verizon that was decent, but as mentioned on their listing, there's really no service outside of their property. This includes the drive to/from camp, for about 30 minutes. My GPS worked well getting me there, despite losing signal about 30 mins away, but it could hardly pick up signal the next morning for some reason, and I relied on my memory to get me 30-40mins back to the highway. Just a heads up! Lastly there are trains that run thru the night, so if you're a light sleeper you may hear them a bit, though they're at least way down along the river so not too close. All in all a real gem of a spot and I look forward to visiting again sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Camping under the stars!
This site was really great! We enjoyed how secluded the site felt while still being close by others and the convenience of our car. The Hollywood swing and firepit were great -- lots of firewood around as well! Lots of stars; we lucked out with two clear nights. The Paw Paw Tunnel trail nearby was really cool -- Definitely bring headlamps/flashlights. It gets dark in the middle We knew we would not be able to drive our non-4x4 vehicle up to the site and were ready to carry our supplies to the site. We did underestimate the grade and length a bit of the trail up the the site though -- manageable, but definitely a bit of work hauling our things up and down from the site at camp set up tear down. Just something to keep in mind -- we would definitely recommend and come again!

We'll Be Back!
We loved this site and would love to return! I had no trouble getting up the hill to the site in my Subaru Forester, but it may be challenging for someone without much experience driving on rough terrain. It was nice to not have to bring water or firewood, and were happy with the other bonus amenities (especially the swinging bench!) The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and even lent us a pan to boil water in since we forgot our kettle.
