The Tuttle homestead was established October 2018. Our land is situated in the Maine mountains on 28 wooded acres. A working hobby saw mill, maple sugar shack and a green house are available to explore and experience with a guided tour by Mark. Local activities within a 10 mile radius include fishing and hiking. We are 30 minutes from Wolfeboro N.H, 60 minutes to Portland ME and 40 minutes from the White Mountains. Conish Maine is only 10 miles down the road and has all your shopping needs.Black Bear Lodge is located 400 feet from the country road. The site is on a knoll behind and above the main residents. The nights are dark offering excellent star gazing opportunities. There is an abundance of wild life, turkeys, deer and an occasional black bear. Light short hiking trails to enjoy the nature on our 28 acres.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. Mark and Trish are fantastic hosts. The camps pace was thoughtfully set up with washing stations by the cabin. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Secluded Cabin Retreat
Here's the revised version: This cabin is wonderful, set in a peaceful, secluded spot. I believe the host hand-built it. The location is tranquil and has everything you could want. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the surrounding forest. The outhouse is impeccably clean and comfortable. Just down the road, there’s a hot shower and a source of potable water. The host kindly offered me an electric lantern, which was very useful since my headlamp’s beam is quite narrow. There’s also ample firewood available, so you can make a fire to enjoy some s'mores. Additionally, there are great hiking opportunities and boating activities nearby.

Highly recommended!
Mark and Trish are very friendly and were happy to show us around. They were very accommodating with our sudden requests, and at the same time they let us alone unless we reached out to them. Very peaceful, quiet, and pretty isolated. I had a stunning drive down the Kangamangus! Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful weekend
Loved the cabin and the wooded area. Great place to catch up on some reading while sitting next to a camp fire. Mark was great and made sure we had everything we needed for a great weekend getaway.

Had a great time! Cabin is very well built behind host's home up on the hill. Very quiet patch of land with no neighboring lights making it great for looking up at night. Hosts are retired hobbyist who are very attentive to the needs of the campers and perfectly willing to demonstrate their passions if interested. They are also very knowledgeable of the surrounding area if excursions are desired in and around the quaint town of Porter, ME, but if not the site compliments itself for its own sake. Bring warm clothes and just enjoy getting away for a while!

Lovely cabin escape
The cabin is nestled in the trees far enough from the house and any other houses that it is private. The cabin is really well built, clean and comfortable. The owners of this property are exceptionally warm, inviting, and accommodating. The outhouse is incredibly clean and smelled pleasant! We enjoyed our stay here very much. The two picnic tables are large and there's a place for food so that bears don't get to anything (next to one of the picnic tables). The fire pit was very nice and wood we purchased from the owner was dry and easy to burn. It's rustic and absolutely lovely if you want to get away. Our cell phones (Verizon) worked from the campsite/cabin.
