PARKING IS BESIDE THE TENT SITES AT GOOSE PARADISE, FROG NOOK, RABBIT RUN, and DUCK HILL. SHORT HIKES INTO THE WOODS: BEAR HOLLOW AND SQUIRREL HIDEAWAY. BOBCAT ISLAND IS A SHORT HIKE ACROSS A BRIDGE. (These three locations would require you to carry your camping gear to the site). This is a working, solar powered homestead, totally off-grid with chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. Available to you is fresh eggs, greenhouse vegetables and garden vegetables that you pick yourself to enjoy while you are here. There is an Artesian spring-fed 2 acre pond for fishing (catch and release only). Semi secluded tent sites are not very far from an outhouse furnished with flush toilet and a sink with fresh running water. All tent sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Enjoy hiking trails or forge off into the woods to explore on this beautiful 25 acre homestead. Sit and relax by the pond while watching for beavers, raccoons, blue heron and even eagles! Listen to the babbling of the Artisian spring where the ice cold water is pumped to the homestead by solar power. Blueberries, wild strawberries and blackberries are fun to look for and eat. Enjoy the cool nights while star gazing, watching fireflies and listening to the frogs and owls. Watch the operation of a working sawmill, learn to tie flies and how to fly fish. In the future there will be blacksmithing demos and classes, art (painting) classes and nature photography classes. There will be a nominal fee for classes. Only minutes away is Home Depot, Walmart, restaurants, shopping, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, antique shops, Historic Downtown Ellsworth and the OCEAN!!

Bobcat Island
Camping here was wonderful! I stayed on Bob Cat Island which was a great experience because I was surrounded by the beautiful pond and all the privacy that offers while still having amenities and my car a short walk away. Bathrooms are very clean and potable water is easily accessible. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming, Mike made me feel at home upon arrival. He was always up for a good chat, but respected the space of all campers as well. It’s a unique spot, I recommend.

Duck Hill
This was a great place to set up camp! Tucked away & private, but still close enough to Acadia & towns in case you forget anything. The grounds are kept up very well & Mike & Cheryl are excellent hosts!

Frog Nook
We had an incredible experience tent camping here! Our site was right next to a small pond with free boating and fishing gear, and a water spigot close by. We were accompanied by ducks and geese and frogs and chickens with fresh eggs in the morning. The site is close to Acadia and the owners are extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

Rabbit Run
Mike and Cheryl’s place is lovely. I highly recommend and would stay there again. We stayed at Rabbit Run and while it is close to the house, the site is private and quiet. The fresh eggs and spring water are nice amenities as well as the ability to access the pond for a canoe or kayak. The location is great for exploring Acadia and the many other less crowded and equally as beautiful places to hike and explore in the area.

Most Excellent HipCamp❤️😊
Mike and cheryl’s serendipity camp is amazing! Mike ihas worked very hard to put down wood chips and signage and it is the best bathroom at a Hipcamp that I have had so far. everything is really clean and thoughtful throughout the camp. Mike was super nice. We didn’t really get a chance to meet cheryl but we will be back and I hope to meet her then! We made egg sandwiches with the eggs and they were delicious. We also had great weather so that helped!

Goose Paradise
Really enjoyed camping here. The frogs definitely come to life at night, but that's part of the camping experience. We loved the canoe and swing set. Beware of lots of goose doo doo as well. Overall, fun camping experience.
