Forty five years ago, our family started assembling 400 acres of woods and fields on the banks of the beautiful Androscoggin River. We enjoy actively managing the property for wildlife habitat and tree growth. The diverse landscape includes over 1/2 a mile of river frontage, a 10 acre wildlife pond, rolling hills in the meadows and steep forested terrain with more than 10 miles of multi-use trails running throughout. Our lands have long been open to local hikers, bikers and cross country skiers, we are excited to share this beautiful property with a larger community. Scout for wildlife and birds, on our private 400 acres of forests and fields. Tire yourself by hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing the 10 miles of private trails.  Located across the river from Riverlands State Park, just minutes from Lewiston-Auburn, Bates College, local breweries and just 2 1/2 hours from Boston. Wildlife abounds both on the property and across the river at Androscoggin Riverlands State Park. Quite often, a gentle breeze off the water will offer relief from black flies and mosquitoes, but the right bug repellent is recommended especially to fend off those pesky ticks that are so common in Maine.

Cannot say enough great things!
Cannot say enough great things! This is year two of visiting John, Pat and Karin’s slice of heaven and I think it may be even more magical than last year. They put so much love into their land and it shows. They are incredibly gracious hosts and we cannot wait to come back next year for year three :)

Canvas Tent @ Slippery Rock Trail
Hidden gem
Such a pretty and secluded spot. My husband and I really needed a quiet weekend away. Don’t let the travel to the spot fool you. It was very quiet and pristine. We loved it and wished we could stay longer.

We love it
We love it here. This was our third trip, and we hope to just make it an annual visit. Being perched out on the bluff above the water is incredibly peaceful. John makes it easy to pre-order firewood and rent the canoe. We paddled out to the islands and floated around; just enjoying, "Life the way it should be", Thank you, John and family for sharing your land.

Slippery Rock Tiny Cabin
Family Fun!
We had a magical weekend at Slippery Rock. We grandparents stayed in the cabin and my sons each had a tent site with their families. It was perfect! The little ones ran free in the fields and splashed in the water. There is such a feeling of open space, nature, serenity, and beauty here. The hosts are lovely stewards of an amazing refuge. Thank you John and Pat for keeping and sharing this land.
