This little nest is new and mostly complete - meaning, the yurt is gorgeous and finished; the 40x40 deck, well.... we'll get a 'round tuit'! (It's 50% done and totally useable!). The property is located on a hill and feels tucked away and quiet, yet it's only 10 miles from the near-by coastal community of Belfast, and an hour and a half drive to Acadia National Park. Sitting on the deck of Round Tuit Yurt, you'll have your own scenic overlook of a pasture and surrounding hills, so you can sip a cup of coffee and watch the clouds pass overhead or - at twilight - smile as the fireflies dance. It's a quick walk down the hill to a secluded pond and the swimming is delightful, especially once you get out of our shallow bay. This property is shared with a couple of other residents, but your space will be respected and you will feel free to come and go as you please (so long as you go slow on the driveway!). You'll have sole use of the portable toilet which is emptied / cleaned weekly. We ask that you bring your own water, camp-stove and bedding for a queen-sized mattress, as well as a headlamp because it gets dark at night! NO FIRES are allowed at the yurt; all cooking needs to be done outdoors at a picnic table provided for your convenience; and trash is a 'pack-it-in / pack-it-out' arrangement. Well-mannered, well-managed dogs are welcome. Please know there are two other pups on site. If you're looking for simplicity in a natural setting, paired with the comfort of a queen bed and a generous amount of bright and airy space, come visit! Our hosts, Hannah and Max, look forward to welcoming you. This quiet spot overlooks a pasture that is ringed by mature woods; the yurt is new, but the 40x40 deck? Well, it's 50% there; we'll get a 'round tuit!' Gorgeous spot to watch the clouds go by and admire the fireflies twinkle at night. A short stroll down to a secluded pond with great swimming. Picnic table provided for your convenience. We ask that all cooking happen outdoors. No fires!! Please bring your own water, bedding (for a queen mattress) and camp stove; a headlamp will be a must-have, as it gets dark at night!! Portable toilet available for your sole use; it is cleaned weekly. Only ten-miles from Belfast where there are plenty of fun spots to eat, stroll the waterfront walk at the Bay and explore local shops. Lots of great outdoor recreation nearby, including: 45-minutes drive to Camden Hills State Park and an hour and a half drive from Acadia National Park.
