Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends! Learn more about this land: Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide. We are within 4 miles of 95 and centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

A Tale of Ruminant and Fowl
We had open skies and barnyard sounds on our visit. If this is your cup of tea, brew it by the fire ring. A luggable loo is where you'll rest your cheeks inside a rustic outhouse, or running water and porcelain can be found a brief jaunt down the road. The ducks were ornery, as they often are, but we enjoyed their grumbles of displeasure at the rooster's ambition. Perhaps, that's just how he wakes from his night terrors and he's really not all that motivated at all. He seems to settle right down once everybody else is up. I like him, but I think talk therapy would be more effective than simply screaming. We don't judge, however. This is a fantastic site with wonderfully unique features. Preordered wood was ready for us not far from where it had been split by our host. It may not be silent, but it suits our sense of peace just fine. If you enjoy imagining the conversations of ruminants and fowl while still deciding, from beneath the blankets, whether to start coffee or run to the outhouse, you may find just as much enjoyment as we did. Next time we'll have to meet the goats.

The farm life
The site is convenient to route two and close to I 95 and there are three places to choose from. I chose one in the open and it was great.

Their goat farm offered a pretty spot to rest for the night. It was enjoyable to see their goats and watch the sunset and sunrise over the farm. The animals were quiet during sleeping hours and the camping spot was level. And I bought some goat milk soap as a souvenir. Oh and the sky was clear, full of stars and you could even see the milky way.

Loved sleeping on the farm with the goats, chickens, and LGD keeping watch. Field was an absolutely beautiful backdrop for a campfire. Fantastic sunset! Perfect spot to crash for the night.
