HIDDEN VALLEY NATURE CENTER IS 1,000 ACRES OF PROTECTED LAND IN JEFFERSON, MAINE - RICH WITH A VARIETY OF HABITAT AND TERRAIN INCLUDING OVER A MILE OF SHORE FRONT ON LITTLE DYER POND. Miles of multi-use trails great for hiking and biking, rolled and groomed XC ski trails, and several rustic huts and tent sites are waiting for you. Hidden Valley Nature Center (HVNC) is your forest. HVNC is part of Midcoast Conservancy, and a portion of the booking fees goes to support our mission to protect and restore vital lands and waters on a scale that matters. PLEASE NOTE: ALL of the cabins and campsites are WALK-IN ONLY. No pop-up campers or vehicles of any kind are permitted within the preserve or in the parking lot. Pond Cabin
I loved out stay at the Pond Cabin at Hidden Valley Nature Center! The hike in was easy and the cabin was cozy. Coloring on Dyer Pond was beautiful. It was so quiet. An all around great nature adventure.

Two Dog Hut
Absolutely beautiful completely remote location away from all the sounds and lights of the city and no cars are allowed in the grounds the perfect place to disconnect and be a part of nature

Pond Cabin
We loved the Pond Cabin. Super clean, stove worked great, and beautiful in mid October. Wouldn’t change a thing

Joe & Doe Cabin

We loved the Joe and Doe Cabin! I was a wee bit disappointed that the Pond Cabin wasn’t available (my husband took a class to help build it!) …but oh my gosh! The Joe and Doe Cabin was SO private and situated in such a beautiful spot, which was close to the Main Barn and probably the easiest to haul things in to. I think it was ideal for us. My 4 year old has been obsessed with camping, this was a good introduction. The wood stove was wonderful and kept us HOT most of the night. We had bought my 2 year old a down bunting sleeping bag, which she did not use. We had to open a window, haha. The sound of the owls and sleeping in the moonlight was charming. Can’t wait to go back (with less stuff!).

Pond Cabin
We loved the cabin with the big windows, the trails and the location. Morning light on the water and trees is magical, as is the moon rise with sounds of owls hooting. I would certainly love to come back again. I realize that that volunteers do much of the work, so please tending the following will make the experience of the next campers better: both cans of wood ash were over flowing, so there is not a spot to clean out the wood stove, the outhouse is at capacity and the wood box was near empty. Many thanks!
