The Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm is settled at the foot of western Maine's Bigelow Moutain Range, in the village of North New Portland, with views of Mt Abram to the west, and Black Hill looming to the east. The farm boasts a large vegetable garden, perennial flower beds, herb gardens, chickens and sheep on pasture, a buzzing apiary, and a lush meadow with a secret forest beyond.  A love for nature and a desire to preserve the landscape for future generations is the heart of Runamuk. The farm practices agricultural conservation for the health of honeybees, native pollinators and other beneficial insects. Because pollinators are a keystone species, by focusing on their conservation Runamuk is able to provide a benefit to the entire ecosystem. That’s why Runamuk’s mission is to practice “Bee-friendly farming for a more sustainable tomorrow”. Beautiful little farm camp
We loved car camping on Samantha’s farm. The campsite was private and clean. Clear directions were left for us at the farm stand. Our dog had a great time chewing on sticks by the fire. Lots of cute little birds around the campsite, and a Bald eagle flew over head in the morning. We even said hi to some sheep on our way out. Would come again!

We really enjoyed our stay! It is a remote location towards the back of her large property, which we loved. It can be tricky to find the spot if you’re arriving once it’s dark, but we knew that coming in, and we managed to find the spot without any issues with the help of her written instructions. We’d stay again!

Very private and a wide open view of the stars at night! I felt like I was in the middle of the woods, but really only a short drive out to the road. The fire pit and picnic table were great additions and there was a pit toilet as well, though I brought my own camp toilet so I didn’t need to use it. Samantha also provided potable water to use, which was useful. If you’re a pretty self-contained camper then this is a great spot to stay! The animals were fun to see and you can even grab some farm fresh veggies from Samantha’s farm stand inside. Very cool!

Cute and tucked away
Very secluded away from the field and farm, great directions to the site, Sam went and put potable water out beforehand and checked on the “poo-potty”. Spacious enough you could have one or two other couples tucked away on a flat spot. Easy access within a few miles to amenities. Fairgrounds are right down the road for mid summer activities if dates applicable. The best part, in our opinion, the site is pretty wide open for amazing star gazing and also to see if a Maine summer storm is creeping up on you!

Sam was very friendly and provided a great site. The site was very private and flat. There wasn't very much shade but other than that we really enjoyed our camping weekend.

Loved this spot!!! Feels very secluded in a good way. Perfect jumping off point for hiking in the mountains. I highly recommend and will likely be back!
