Tent Camp @ Snow White Sanctuary
Camp Caulkins/Snow White Sanctuary
We had a great and peaceful time. We stayed right next to the water and it was lovely. The mosquitoes were not bad close to the water. The frogs and turtles kept them under control. My husband and I stayed Aug 16th -18th and it was hot but it was tolerable by the water and with our shade screens. If you reserve through Hipcamp the description is not accurate. None of the tent camp sites have water or electric. They do have some nice Air BNB tents though that have AC for $50 a night if it is a must. The artwork that hangs at the back porch is fantastic. We were visited by the goats when we first arrived, 2 dogs came down later but the animals were not a nuisance and added to the fun of the experience. We were also visited by a baby gator on Saturday morning. He was not a nuisance either. He hung out most of the morning swimming back and forth across the bank. It was enjoyable to observe him. We took some great pictures of him. We will return but it will probably be a place we go to in late fall or early spring when the weather is milder.

Shady
Don't stay at this shady place. Host never responded after I booked. I drove 4.5 hours there and arrived to a locked gate. Called twice and was immediately hung up on. Sat out front for over an hour trying to find somewhere else to go. Had to go through hipcamp to eventually get a refund. Still never received a word from the host. Unreal.

Great little farm with lots of animals and wonderful hosts. There's a lot to do here so if you are looking for a place to spend 2 nights or so, could be a good option. The hosts are artists with some cute jewelry and paintings for sale.

What a magical little sanctuary this is! It’s just beautiful, and a calm, and the animals are friendly without being overly intrusive. As a woman traveling alone, I felt really safe. And you can’t beat a campsite that has plumbing and hot water available .
