This is a beautiful piece of property in the Red Lick Valley with a combination of pastures and deep woods. It is absolutely beautiful all year around. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in our secluded area along Locust Branch Creek. There are spots available with shade at least part of the day and direct access to the creek. You can walk the creek bed, rock hunt, listen to the creek pass by and enjoy the serenity of nature. This is in the corner of our 540-acre farm which was once part of the Locust Branch School. Here you are welcome to hike the fields and woods. We have rustic trails in the woods and pastures you can explore. This is part of a farm, so we have dogs, horses and other animals. These include Highland cattle, Idaho pasture pigs, mini donkeys, goats and more! You will also likely see us out working. This is Kentucky so we do have snakes, ticks and other bugs so it is best to be prepared. If you want to take some excursions, visit nearby Berea, Irvine or the Daniel Boone National Forest with all it has to offer, including the Red River Gorge!Pitch your tent in our secluded area along Locust Branch Creek. Tent
A truly great and relaxing place to camp! Plenty of flat ground for your tent. The area is mowed and well maintained so there were no worries about ticks or other bothersome insects. The fire pit was clean and free from trash and the picnic table was sturdy and clean! Follow the written directions and take a look at Google Maps beforehand and you won’t have an issue finding the site at all. The creekbed next to the site was a lot of fun to walk and I found multiple fossils and geodes in it! Really neat geology in it. A few days prior to my trip, I sent Sandy and Martin a message. They responded quickly and were very friendly! They even stopped by to check in on me and were extremely kind people. The listing is very accurate as to what to expect, so just double check it before packing to make sure you bring everything you need! There is a road nearby, so you’ll hear some cars throughout the day, but that’s to be expected. It’s a great spot to set up a base camp and then adventure out from. There’s lots to see and do in the area. I highly recommend Tater Knob Pottery and Farm. Extremely reasonably priced pottery and very friendly people! Oh, and star gazing here at night is excellent. All in all, I highly recommend Sandy and Martin’s Hipcamp. You can’t go wrong for the price.

Quick camp with my dogs!
Tent
I enjoyed my farm camp on Sandy and Martin’s property! The camp sites were flat and rather large! I got there at sunset and planned to get to the Pinnacles for sunrise, so I chose to use my hammock instead of my full tent and used a tree and my car to hang from! I was able to pull right into and around the site. My dogs enjoyed the big space. It was secluded from their farm animals but a short walk to them if I had time! Fire ring and picnic table were provided which was all I needed! I brought my own firewood. The site on the river is somewhat close to the “main” road but traffic was slim to none so I only heard about 8 cars drive past all night. I did not have cell service from the farm. I didn't need it - but I always find it good to know ahead of time. Perfect stay for myself, my dogs, and close to get to the pinnacles early (less than 15mins).
