Learn more about this land: You can camp, wander, head down the road to Viking Lake. Easy, relaxing and not too many rules. I don't do trash, unattended firepits or really loud gatherings past dusk. I love to camp but, this is our oasis. We also have outdoor dogs that help keep the coyotes and wildlife at bay. My partner and I stayed one night during a trip towards Des Moines. The camp site was beautiful. I would definitely stay again.

The hosts were lovely and welcoming! Very kind and helpful, and were communicative. We enjoyed our night here and will be visiting again!

So peaceful and could see so many stars on top of the hill! Found fire wood on the land! Hosts were extremely nice and helpful.

Two Old Hoes on Hippie Hill
Magic on Hippy Hill.
Loved the off grid camping on hippy hill with our teardrop camper. We were passing through on our way to Colorado and wish we stayed here another night or two. Nicki was very friendly and helpful, and gave us recommendations for stuff to do around the area. We happened to come on the summer solstice when there was a full red moon, and the fireflies out on quite the show for us. It was pretty magical.

Star Gazing Paradise
Absolutely gorgeous spot up on the hill! Beautiful view of the sunset and if it weren't for the clouds that night this spot is an idea olace for wonderfulstar gazing. Next time I'll be sure to bring my telescope and there definitely will be a next time. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone needing a quick get away out in the woods in the Southwest part of Iowa. The hosts were also very thoughtful. 11/10 had a great freaking time!
