Our expansive 360-acre farm, in the family for nearly 80 years, has undergone significant transformation. What was once a grove of trees and a borrow pit for highway construction has evolved into a welcoming campground. Amidst this landscape, we've erected two buildings, one of which is a shop equipped with a restroom and a charming porch. Nestled on this porch, my wife and I delight in evenings spent observing the deer and other wildlife, fostering a serene atmosphere for relaxation. Originally conceived as a space for family enjoyment and camping, we've now decided to extend this hospitality to others, embarking on further campground development. Our campground offers a variety of spots, some equipped with electricity for convenience, while others offer a more primitive experience, allowing guests to disconnect and embrace the tranquility of nature. Flowing through our farm is the Volga River, a delightful waterway perfect for canoeing or kayaking, providing access to Fayette or the Volga River State Recreation Area. Additionally, we boast a quaint pond ideal for fishing, although swimming is not permitted onsite. For those seeking aquatic adventures beyond, the state park offers further fishing opportunities.

This was a great place to camp and the host is very kind and welcoming. The space is well laid out. I was the only camper there when I visited, but the sites are setup so that even had there been other guests, we all would have had our own space. The string of lights over the space by the pond was a nice touch and I enjoyed turning them on at night. There is no shower here (as the listing states) but the bathroom is very clean and well kept and not too far from any of the sites. It was overall a very relaxing space and one I would definitely visit again in the future. I hope to stay here again if I'm passing through.

Family Campsite

Had a great experience, host was awesome and plenty of space for our rigs. Spent Labor Day weekend relaxing by the fire and enjoyed the shaded area. Would definitely recommend to others.

As good as it gets!

Wonderful, beautiful location! Very very quiet and peaceful right in the heartland! If you ever wanted to stay on a farm in the Midwest this is the place! Well cared for land and friendly host! The bathroom would make any suburban soccer mom happy

Family Campsite

Steve welcome us minutes after we arrived. Very down to earth couple. Everything was perfect. We took the campsite up by the pole barns which was perfect for my son and I. The bathroom was clean. The property was quiet and peaceful. We did a little fishing in the pond, enjoyable, but don't expect to have a meal. My son enjoyed watching the fish take the bait all morning. The pond is very clear. I would recommend this sight, you should have no issues at all. Thanks again Steve! Mike

A hidden gem!

What a terrific experience. Steve and his wife were friendly and welcoming, the campsite was perfect and they even provided firewood at no extra cost. Highly recommend staying here. We certainly will again if we’re passing through the area.

Family Campsite

Really nice spot!

We’ll done Steve & family for creating a really lovely space. I guess we were their inaugural guests. He greeted us and showed us around. We had a very restful night. Lighting and electric hook ups are great. We had a nice walk around the corn field in the morning before getting back on the road. Oh and there’s a lovely river spot for warmer weather. Would be a lot of fun for groups or kids.
