Horse Creek Adventures is a 170 acre ranch that provides an opportunity for visitors to stay one night or several days to enjoy the land and area sights. You have your choice as to how you want to stay. Our "off the grid" cabins offer a special opportunity to camp with a roof. The cabins are extremely popular! Check out the information about them and then check the photos posted by quests and read their reviews to give you lots of ideas of how you could enjoy these one of a kind sites. Tenting is available all over the 170 acres. You can tent by the pond; on top of the hill, or in a valley. These sites allow you to "get away from it all" and let the stress melt away. We have tenting sites close to a road to give you flexibility to see local attractions while enjoying the whole 170 acres. The land is part of the famous Loess Hills. There are hilltops to take in the breath taking views and valleys surrounded by trees. A pond full of trophy sized bass , catch and release, no license required. Wildlife abounds including a wide variety of birds. We have been described by avid birders as a rich place for birding. The area is rich with history-Lewis and Clark; French Canadian trappers and their Lakota wives established French Villages; Mormons came through here on the way to Utah; Jesse James played cards. Waubonsie State Park is close with hiking trails and seven miles of Horse trails. At night you can use a portable corral to have your horse close. End the day around a campfire, look at the stars and the lightening bugs and be serenaded to sleep by the coyotes and whip-poor-wills Enjoy !!

Site 2 - Horse Creek Adventures: Cabins
Cabin 2: We LOVED this cabin! There was four of us and three dogs. We had enough space for two cots and a queen cot. We hardly spent anytime in the cabin—we mostly stayed on the deck! Definitely heard the coyotes, so loud and cool to hear. If you want a more shaded deck/cabin, this one is ideal. If you are looking for more of a view, cabin 4 and 5 looked beautiful, but are much smaller than cabin 2. We were worried about ticks but only one of our dogs had one. Some of us did get bit by chiggers. Lona took care of us when we arrived. She drove us up with our gear and then brought over our 5 gallon of water. She was responsive and took care of anything that we needed! We will definitely be back!

We always have the best time at this property! We have stayed in the cabins before, but we camped this time, and we loved it. Our dog was able to run around and get all his energy out. He didn't even flinch at the coyote puppies howling in the evening, which was so cool for us to listen to. We love it here! Highly recommend camping or the cabins!

Best camping experience in midwest!
We pulled up to the ranch house and Lona met us with a smiling face. This area was pure bliss in the Loess Hills. They make an effort to make sure it feels like a secluded camping spot and you are not close to other camper allowing you to fully enjoy the views and quietness of nature. They provided 5 gallons of water and a fire ring we could cook with. Both Lona and Jack were very nice and kept the property in peak condition I did not see one bit of trash the whole time.

Our stay was wonderful, the views are amazing and the stars at night took my breath away. I don't sleep well, so I spent 4 hours from midnight to the early morning listening to nature and enjoying the stars.
