Peaceful Retreat
With pets
Karen was so genuine and sweet and offered tons of advice for when I was in the area. The camper was clean and clearly well taken care of. The setting was quiet and peaceful. Great place to stay!

Mixed feelings but overall nice!
With kids
Our experience left us with mixed feelings. Pros: Karen was very nice and helpful. She made sure we knew what all was available to us and what we needed to bring to have the best stay possible. There is a awning above the camper as well, so we were not worried at all when it started raining. We were able to enjoy a campfire the first night, and with the hotplate provided inside of the camper, we were able to continue having hot meals when it was raining too hard to cook outside. There is also a microwave that we were able to use. The kiddo also got a kick out of the bunk beds. Cons: The site was closer to the road then we expected, and it left us feeling more exposed at night than we would have liked since it was just us 2 women and a child. The porta-potty was a bit further than expected as well and we didn't feel comfortable letting the kiddo go alone without us being able to watch him. Thankfully we could see it from the camper. None of us were comfortable using it at night, since we were close to the road and it was a bit of a precarious walk in the dark after rain left the incline muddy. The electricity situation left a bit to be desired. None of the overhead lighting worked, but there was a lamp and string lights available instead, so it wasn't too uncomfortable unless we were in the bathroom. The A/C unit was full of ladybugs and stink bugs that shot out when we turned it on, so we just kept that off and opened all of the windows since we are squeamish.

Group trip
The place was absolutely adorable! The camper is even cuter in person. Definitely recommend going by Hemlock Cliffs in the area, as It's just a slip down the road. Karen was super responsive and provided everything needed. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing!! So peaceful!!
This little place is such a gem!! Karen is absolutely phenomenal!! Great hostess, quickly responds to messages, and very helpful as we are unfamiliar with the area. We were looking for a little getaway and it was absolutely perfect! We are typically primitive campers but decided to change it up this time and I’m so happy we did!! Highly recommend Hemlock Cliffs and Marengo Caves when you’re in the area!! Karen makes sure you have everything you need! We only needed to bring food, bedding, and a couple of towels. Camper is completely covered with a large covered area to sit and relax. So nice to have a warm shower and a cooktop….we didn’t even have to start a fire but Karen made sure we had wood just in case! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Newbies nest at the Songbird
With kids
My little girls (ages 7 and 4) had an absolute blast staying here! Everything was thought out like where to put the grease and how to take care of the septic system. It was all clearly described and laid out for us. It was so easy to use even for newbies such as ourselves. The lights and the fire pit just made it a wonderful way to get away from it all. We would definitely love to stay here again!
