Here's a refined version of the description for the Rockford Ski Club: Discover the Rockford Ski Club: Nestled on 33 acres of diverse landscape, the Rockford Ski Club offers a unique blend of prairie, forest, gardens, and open fields. The property is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, and foxes, and leads directly to the Kishwaukee River—perfect for kayaking or canoeing adventures. Enjoy stunning views of the river valley from the camping field, and embrace the spirit of community that has made this cooperative club a local treasure for decades. Members continue to ski and sled here, keeping tradition alive. Conveniently located just off Interstate 39, the club is only a 10-15 minute drive from Rockford, with a gas station just half a mile away. Camping options are available for tents, cars, vans, campers, or RVs in our maintained grassy area. While there is a well for non-potable water (suitable for washing), we recommend bringing your own drinking water. Electricity is available for basic needs like charging phones or powering lights and small devices, but it is not sufficient for RVs. For more information, feel free to reach out to our club president, Steve, at (815)-979-4888.

Site B - Camp Site
Pretty chill place to camp. Host was fantastic, and the weather was perfect. If you’re looking to get away from the city, this is a great place to do that.

Site C - Rustic Cabin Site
Comfy rustic cabin
I was looking for a tent site and stumbled on this tiny cabin with fold-down bed platforms. I enjoyed staying there - the screens make it very breezy and with a nice view. Wood at $10 a bucket was convenient and a fire pit with a grate was provided, along with a picnic table. Interesting site with the remnants of a former ski jump. The host was very responsive to communication.

Campsite A - a winner!
Loved this campground! It's a beautiful spot. Really well taken care of and welcoming. We stayed at Campsite A which was a great choice. Campsite B was pretty close to A, so if you like your privacy, I'd go for C or D. But it wasn't a problem for us. Grounds were neat and well maintained, clubhouse had a few things we needed/were looking for. Compost toilet was not for us, but there was a pit toilet as well which was clean and well stocked. And to our children's delight - it wasn't stinky! We took a fun hike down to the river using the well marked path and took our bikes to Atwood Park which was a very short drive from the campsite. Really enjoyed our stay here and would love to return in the future.

Site C - Rustic Cabin Site
Very private and quiet place to camp. Large enough to roam and forage, close to the river to cool off and close to Dollar General in case you forget anything. Had a wonderful birthday weekend and will be back again.

Returning from Last Year
We loved the place so much from last year's adventures that we had to come back! :) It's still really private and peaceful even with other campers there. The firewood is priced REALLY well so we were able to keep a fire burning as much as we wanted. We're already looking forward to our next visit.
