Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
As all the land here is born of lava, many moons ago this land began to host plants and critters. Long after, it was sculpted and a number of families and farmers have contributed to what we have today. An abundance of fruit and vegetables within sight of the ocean. Peaceful breezes and warming sun make for unparalleled tranquility. Today the land still gives back to its visitors. Come recharge. As this is agricultural lands, there are many critters. Dogs, chickens, pheasants, peacock, mongoose, and many birds. Tge invasive coqui frog is annoying to some and calming to others. The micro climate here swings from warm and dry to wet quickly. Best to always prepare for rain. There is snorkeling, beaches, local food, Cafe, BBQ, poke, fish-n-chips, grocery, Sunday farmers market and hiking nearby. It is peaceful here, but also an active farming community. As an organic farm, we put alot of effort into soil building and as such, there are soft places that will be damaged by the weight of a vehicle. Staying on the driveway is best. We will guide you to where you need to go. Our road is paved, but bumpy. Any vehicle will make it without damage if driven slowly. 1 to 4mph tops. *Be sure to avoid the camper rental companies that restrict certain roads. Aloha and have a great day.Tucked into the Ohia forest on the gentle slopes of Mauna Loa surrounded by various native plants, the cool mountain breeze will refresh as the oceans views energize. Shaded areas and spots with full sun and views of the stars offer a breath taking experience. Undeveloped camping with *** no ameneties *** offers a natural experience on a working farm. Enjoy hiking up the mountain. Beaches and coastal hikes are a short drive. Note: It rains almost everyday. Are you ready? We do have a portapotty as a test run.

An Unforgettable Hidden Gem
Tent
It was a fun adventure driving up to the property at night, and despite the challenges of navigating in the dark, we had no trouble finding our way, thanks to Colin’s solid directions and accommodating nature. A midnight arrival was unavoidable due to our tight schedule, but Colin made the process seamless and stress-free. The property’s tranquil and private surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a restful night’s sleep, and we woke up feeling completely refreshed. In the morning, we were warmly greeted by Colin, his charming daughter, and their delightful dog, Speckles. It was an absolute joy to hear Colin share the fascinating history of the farm and to explore the incredible variety of fruit trees. This was our very first Hipcamp experience, and it set the bar incredibly high. Everything about the stay was thoughtfully curated and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique and memorable adventure. A perfect A+ experience!

Colin was a very accommodating host, he was friendly and helpful and gave great suggestions for places to hike or beaches to visit. His dog speckles came and greeted me and Colin made sure I had what I needed and was very available if I had any questions. A very unique farm!

This is a truly beautiful location with a very kind and hospitable post. The road is as bumpy as he says it is, but it’s totally possible and fine. We really enjoyed our stay here, thank you!

Nice view, odd communication
5 m campervan · With kids
Host communication was a little tough. He wants to know your exact arrival time to then be able to tell you live over the phone how to find your site. That’s a hard ask when you’re exploring on island time. I told him we would be there around 5pm, we arrived at 4:30 and after 3 tries we got him on the phone. He was offsite in spotty cell service and irritable about explaining where to park. Turns out we were standing by the site - could have been easily messaged to us or a photo sent to us and we would have found it just fine. Didn’t explain where any toilets were either. So it gave some off-putting vibes upon arrival which was a bummer. That being said we had a great view of the sunset out of the back of the van.

Tent · Group trip
We stayed here before going on manta ray tours. It was a little inconvenient in that we were north of this area but we wanted to get here to find the site/ set up the tents/meet the host before the night dive, so we ended up driving unnecessarily back and forth. The road up was bumpy but manageable in a non-4WD (but you do want high clearance). We just got here at night and fell asleep, drove out early.
