Welcome to old Hawaii, the village of Koae, Big Island, Hawaii! Our forest features 12 old mangos and 50 types of tropical fruit. The 6 acres includes Josanna's Organic garden, a WWOOF farm experience. This space has hosted thousands of people over it's 38 year history and we welcome people to our island and to the district of Puna. We look forward to introducing you to the diverse and delicious fruits of the jungle!Elevated with great views of the garden and nested in the food forest/farm. The back deck is screened in and has a simple kitchen with a small fridge. The space is fun and relaxing, like camping out but with nice beds and linens.
Hale Kelli has a self contained solar system that provides electricity to the cabin. WiFi and electrical charging available at our main lodge from 9am to 9pm. Bathrooms and solar shower are shared with the farm. No hairdryers or overnight medical devices allowed.
The space:
We are an organic farm in a 6 acre food forest. Your cottage overlooks the turmeric and ginger crop. Our farm is all organic and we are off-grid. This cottage recently got a solar system for electric. We do not use pesticides, so we share our farm with all of nature! We ask that you help control pests by bringing trash up to the packing shed regularly, and leaving empty bottles outside of the building - you will be more comfortable as well.
Check-in hours are from 4pm to 6pm. A grace period may be extended to 8pm. Strictly NO check ins permitted past 8pm.
Guest access:
The farm library is available during your visit as is a farm tour. The clean toilet facilities are shared with the farm. Communal hot shower available. Our packing shed is open for visiting.....and it is in the packing shed where you can find wifi.
Other things to note:
Solar power for charging cell phones and such available at the packing shed.
This is an owner occupied property. The owner’s residence is on site. The property owner pays all applicable taxes in the state of Hawaii.
