Ancient Valley Growers is a unique place for farming in the most south district in Big Island, surrounded by beautiful mountains and spring water from the tap. This is a perfect spot for decompress, pitch your own tent, we are 28 minutes drive from the volcano park, 15 minutes to black sand beach and 30 minutes from south point, the kau coffee mill which is a really tourist spot is 5 minutes from us, The wood valley temple is on a 6 minutes walk down. if you need a place for do laundry, take a hot shower, cook a meal, decompress and take a breath of fresh air far away from the city and take a minute to explore the forest this would be a great spot for you. A farm in which you are welcome to harvest some vegetables along with squeezing fresh mandarine juice during your stay and learn about the natural techniques we use on the process. Also you can enjoy a farm tour to the biggest mamaki farm in the world (please schedule ahead of Time is encourage) $30 tour farm per hr. We have a camping stove available for you to cook, BBQ grill or wood for make a fire and blankets just make sure to reserve or ask for this items ahead of time. Please check our adds on like fresh farm eggs, propane for your cooking, tours and more. Be aware this is a farm, so dogs, chickens and natures sounds should be expected. Make sure to let us know when you at Pahala or your ETA since Wood valley is a no phone or EMF signal area and we rely on wifi for communication.Pitch your tent in our beautiful all mountain surrounded farm on a raised 10x10 platform, where sunrises are incredible and fresh veggies and OJ is a must. Would you like to enjoy nature and mountains, from farm to table food and have a tour to the largest mamaki tea farm in the world. AVG is only 25 minutes from the Volcano park,5 minutes from the Ka'u Coffee Mill and 15 from black sands beach. Hot showers, flushable toilet, drinking water from the tap and laundry services available. Propane camping stove available upon request, camping chairs, beach chairs and umbrella available at not cost. Feed the chickens, get some cowtherapy with Canela our jersey cow and happy our goat. You can buy at the farm fresh vegetables and eggs upon request as well. You are welcome to harvest mandarines straight from the trees. If you would like a tour of the farm please arrange this one day in advance donations will go to our animals feed and maintaining them happy $25.

We have beach chairs, camp chairs and umbrellas available upon request free of charge. Just we ask to please return them in good condition to avoid any fees.

It met our needs for a safe inexpensive place to camp. It was also nice to have access to fresh clean drinking water and a restroom. I think with a little more effort the host could have made it a more positive experience. We lost cell service about 5 minutes away from our destination and Google got us to the location but it looked sketchy with a large fence and dogs. I couldn't contact the host to verify we were in the right location nor could I access hipcamp. We yelled thru the fence to get someone's attention. The campsite was just inside the fence near the house and large barn. There was a platform that our 6 person tent just barely fit on. The ground was not level, the grass had not been mowed and there was dog poop so we set up on the platform. There are no services nearby so bring whatever you need such as food and toilet paper as that is not provided. The bathroom/shower is shared with their hired hands. Since we had young kids we always took them to the bathroom because there were a number of hazards in the area. We left to go to the beach for dinner and came back shortly after dark to find a huge lock on the gate but no way to contact host other than yelling thru the gate again. It was cold at night so bring adequate gear. The bugs/frogs were loud and plentiful as we were going to sleep and then the roosters starting their routine very early in the morning. On a clear night the view of the stars was amazing! Knowing we would not have service and how to check in

Beautiful land.

Great location! This was the perfect location to stay while exploring the southern part of the island. Our daughter loved all the farm animals. It was so interesting to learn about this working farm from the hosts. Great times!

Such an amazing place and view thankful to be able to camp on the land. Matt was a great guy got us situated when we arrived and gifted us some of there bananas, love the hospitality! Love all the animals they have dogs running around and the weather was amazing the whole time there. I highly recommend this place

Andrea and Matt were fantastic hosts. With a great secluded spot if you love sounds of the rainforest and beautiful people I’d recommend this stay! They have the most beautiful farm and with access to fruit and great tea. They are perfectly situated to access both sides of the island and we enjoyed day trips to kona and Hilo as well as all the beaches on each side. The closest beach to the farm was the famous black sand beach and we managed to spot turtles every time we visited this beautiful beach. Would really recommend this stay and would love to come again!

I couldn't even find the place so I never stayed there. Location provided over Google maps isn't correct, the host left no additional directions and lack of Internet signal in the area made it impossible to find the correct location. I was driving around for an hour and even talked to people living in the area but nobody knew how to help me. In the end my husband and I had to find another last minute accommodation for the night. I would have loved to have additional instructions on how to find the correct property, a sign pointing to the driveway could have also helped.
