We regret that the campsite at Sunset Rock is closed until further notice. A new neighbor (good folks) moved in next door to the campsite. In addition to goats and other animals, they have four barking dogs, three quacking ducks and a roster that crows all day and night. Unfortunately, we can no longer offer the seclusion, peace and quiet we did.
Private, 5-acre, single RV campsite on the brow of Lookout Mtn. overlooking Rising Fawn, Ga. Has gorgeous views and awesome sunsets. Includes a large shelter, 2 picnic tables, grill, fire pit, water, power, WiFi. (No showers, toilets or sewer hookup.) Located 8 miles north of Mentone, Alabama: 16 miles to Trenton, Ga, 21 miles to Fort Payne, Ala. 28 miles to Chattanooga. The following sites are located within 30 miles: Little River Canyon National Preserve, DeSoto State Park, Rock City, Tennessee Aquarium, Ruby Falls, DeSoto Falls, Russell Cave National Monument, Chickamauga Battlefield, Visitors Center, Point Park, The Incline, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Chattanooga Zoo. There are many hiking trails and interesting sites related to the Cherokee Indians and the Civil War. Several festivals and special events are held each year in Mentone.
