Sonny South Farm is our ~30 acre horse farm nestled in the foothills of north Georgia's mountains. We are ~10 miles northeast of Athens and the University of Georgia, and we are ~15 miles southeast of I-85 at Commerce. Sonny South offers beautiful views of animals and farmland. It's common to see deer, coyotes, turkeys, opossums, raccoons, and birds of prey on the farm. There is even a buffalo herd in a neighbor's pasture. It's tranquil and quiet out here. Local Attractions: University of Georgia, Downtown Athens, UGA Botanical Gardens, Georgia Museum of Art, Watson Mill Bridge State Park, Boutier Winery, Soldier of the Sea Distillery Further Afoot: North Georgia Mountains, Lake Hartwell, Ty Cobb Museum, Victoria Bryant State Park. We are NOT a commercial campground.

I stayed there for a week in a 40 foot class A. You are parking on grass, but the ground is very firm. It was quiet and peaceful but the best thing was how easy it was to get into town. Excellent 50A power supply and good water connection.

I Would Stay Here Again
The hosts are a very friendly family. The site where I put my camper is flat and hard. Very easy to level my trailer and hook up to water and electric. Phone service came in well and guest internet is fast. Near Athens, and the University of Georgia.

Rolling hills and quiet serenity
We had a great week’s stay on this beautiful land. Perfect level spot to park our bus with all necessary hookups 20/30/50 A and water service. David and Melissa were such great hosts, inviting our children to meet the horses during feeding time and offering some valuable knowledge about horses and their diets. This is a beautiful location with rolling hills and quiet serenity. Well worth the stay if you need RV parking near the Athens area.

David and Melissa are helpful and very interesting to talk to! Their place is peaceful and beautiful terrain. It was easy to get in and park and they were at the gate to greet us! The only issue for us was the wires were just a tad low for our 13’3” height in the site we parked but made it through without a problem. Would definitely stay there again!
