Two night limit. A roadside stop near peanut and cotton fields with water and power. Once upon a time a very busy apiary, now a mild beekeeping field and farmers bee supply store. We’ve fire pit(s), bring your wood or purchase it here,. Beware the two barn cats, one gray named Cat-Dog because he greets people like a dog, follows his owner everywhere outside and is a very old Tom. Meet the retired folks who spend time with the Alaskan Malamute service dog and the chickens; perhaps one of us is in one of the shops; the blacksmith, or the carpenters, the gardening or the beekeeping shop. Beefield is just down the road (South) from the Ogeechee River for fishing and kayaking.. Brooklet is 6 miles for grocery and restaurants, fuel and pharmacies.This is an ideal stop for only a one or two night (limit) layover, to gain some rest from Highway travel. If you are an RV, you will be parked just outside our gate by the Beeutiful Bees sign. Power and water are available. It is a roadside spot in full sun, great for solar. No shade to park under on hot summer days.
If you are a tent camper, the site is inside the fence near the fire pit, with some shade available.
Many of our past guest were visiting GA Southern University students as empty nesting parents and GA 301 travelers seeking a quiet rural setting. If you are a tourist to Savannah we are about an hour from River Street and the South-side Hunter AAF base. Statesboro is a university town (3 different ones). If you wish to learn about the birds (chickens) and the bees (honeybees) or rural life in general, we're happy to chat with you. Here at Beeutiful Bees we sell Beekeeping supplies and equipment to local beekeepers, although we're winding down to retirement so we can travel more. . A grocer, pharmacist, doctor antiques and great food are just 5 miles away in Brooklet.
