Escape to Firefly Farms—a 20-acre paradise where you can gather free farm-fresh eggs, explore fairy gardens, and spot deer, hawks, and even panthers in the surrounding woods. Once a Buffalo Ranch and animal sanctuary, this magical property is your gateway to adventure and relaxation. What Makes Firefly Farms Special:
🥚 Free Farm-Fresh Eggs: As part of your stay, enjoy free eggs—gather them yourself each morning! With egg prices soaring nationwide, this is a rare and delicious perk. Try duck eggs, too, especially if you’re a baker!
🐓 Meet the Animals: Our free-ranging geese, ducks, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, goats, and friendly barn cats are always ready to greet you. Kids (and adults!) will love feeding the animals and meeting the adorable babies.
🧚 Magic Abounds: Discover fairy doors, fairy gardens, and whimsical points of interest scattered across the property. Every corner feels like a storybook come to life.
🛍️ The Fairy Shop: Step into our enchanting fairy shop, where magic and whimsy come alive. Browse garden decorations, fairy doors, fairy wings, flower crowns, and our Legacy Stoneware Collection—the Fairy Garden Tea Party. You’ll also find keychains, bookmarks, necklaces, earrings, + more. Whether you’re looking for a pocket hug, a garden marker, or a tooth fairy’s treasure, you’ll find something to spark joy! 🎨 Creative Studio: Visit our on-site pottery and art studio, where you can try your hand at clay work, bisque painting, mosaics, and more. If you’re feeling inspired, join us in gardening projects, farm improvements, or landscaping—there’s always something to create or nurture here. 🦌 Nature & Wildlife: Explore the woods, spot deer grazing, or watch for migrating birds. The neighboring acres are home to coyotes, bears, foxes, and even panthers—though they’re shy and keep their distance. 📍 Convenient Location: Located just off Highway 301, Firefly Farms is an easy drive to Gainesville, Melrose, Hawthorne, Micanopy, Palatka, and Ocala. Enjoy local lakes for kayaking, swimming, and fishing, or take a day trip to Florida’s east coast beaches (60 miles away). 🌟 Whether you’re here for solitude, creativity, or farm adventures, Firefly Farms offers a one-of-a-kind escape. Book your stay and experience the magic for yourself!Choose your perfect spot on 5 private acres within Firefly Farms—a peaceful open field surrounded by lush woods crisscrossed with game trails. Whether you prefer shade under the trees, a quiet corner near the woods, or a spot close to the trails, you’ll have plenty of space to create your own peaceful haven. What to Expect: 🌳 Privacy and Serenity: Enjoy uninterrupted quiet and stunning views of the night sky with minimal light pollution. This is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. 🔥 Self-Sustaining Camping: This is a boondocking site (dry camping), though water and electric hookups may be available upon request. You’re welcome to gather wood for a campfire and create your own fire pit. 🦌 Wildlife Encounters: The woods are alive with activity—deer often graze nearby, and we can put out corn to encourage them to visit. Keep your binoculars handy for birdwatching; egrets, wild turkeys, hawks, and migrating birds are frequent visitors. 🌿 Explore the Trails: The game trails in the woods offer endless exploration for nature lovers. You might even spot shy foxes, raccoons, or other wildlife passing through. 🥚 Farm-Fresh Eggs Included: As part of your stay, enjoy free farm-fresh eggs—gather them yourself each morning! While egg prices are soaring nationwide, we have plenty to share! Try duck eggs, too, especially if you’re a baker! 🐣 Farm Fun: Kids (and adults!) will love interacting with baby chicks, turkeys, geese, goats, and ducks. Feed them treats and make new furry and feathered friends. 🌸 Seasonal Beauty: Depending on the time of year, you might spot swallowtails, dragonflies, and bluebirds, or watch deer fawns resting while their mothers graze. Guest Participation: Feel free to join us in morning farm chores—open the coops, tuck in the animals at night, or gather eggs, herbs, and veggies for your meals. It’s a hands-on way to experience farm life. Whether you’re here for solitude, wildlife, or farm adventures, this 5-acre haven offers a unique and memorable escape.

I LOVED it! Dog friendly, rustic
Tent · With pets
Dawn doesn’t just have property, she has a living, breathing thing. The chorus of song birds, the farm animals, and the soft whisper of wind in the trees tops, make the sound from the highway a background noise. She herself is one of the kindest, genuine, and lovely people that I’ve met. There is so much to explore, the stars are beautiful and clear, and the rustic atmosphere brings you closer to nature and away from the fast paced rat race of life. I made the (very stupid) mistake of driving over the leaves through the forest line, thinking the slope was minimal, but they were quickly packed and my car was moored. After a few hours of me trying to dig it out, she and her friend (Kali, if I’m not mistaken) had come to check on me and saw the predicament I was in and immediately went to work to help me get it out, out of generosity and kindness. There is much to do nearby. Rainbow river is less than an hour away, the Florida Museum of Natural history, the Bouleware Springs Park (dog friendly, despite the signs) and the farmers market and flea market. She has a fairy shop! How cute is that?? I highly recommend this spot to disconnect from society a bit. *tip* the far right of the grounds is best, just don’t do what I did and drive through the tree line.

A delightful time at the farm
25 ft travel trailer
My sister and brother camped overnight in their trailer. I met up with them the next day and they said they loved the experience with Dawn, her family, and the animals. They also enjoyed hearing the stories from the history of the property. Dawn gifted them the most delicious eggs! The only negative thing they had to say was, camping is next to a road. I'm going to book a couple days for myself the end of April!

Happy campers after a 2day stay!
We booked this trip to get away in nature last minute and were pleasantly suprised. Dawn, the host, was a wonderful, spirited soul. We got to see all the animals and enjoyed peaceful evenings with all the sounds. Would recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a true primitive experience!
