Love meditation, yoga, music, and the deep woods? The Gainesville Retreat Center is located on 108 acres of gorgeous conservation land in the forests near Gainesville, Florida. Nestled in a cornucopia of habitats including hardwood and pine forests, palm scrub, and wetlands, we are also only ten minutes from the University of Florida. This land once belonged to the Timucuan Indians as a hub for canoe making. We are only one mile from boat and lake access as well as the Hawthorne bike trail that takes you through Payne's Prairie. Choose from tent/RV camping, cabins, or a room in the retreat center. Vegetarian kitchen access. Teacher-led and personal retreats available--request info on meditation, yoga, kirtan, more. Private truck camping in the forest

We stayed for 2 nights to have our own quiet retreat away from other campers in a truck camper. Absolutely light years better than parking at a commercially advertised camping spot! The land and retreat sanctuary is beautiful! A lot of trails to explore very wild, undeveloped Florida. We enjoyed access to modern facilities a few minutes walk from our spot. Shana was incredible, responsive, offered much more than we expected, and invited us to join ongoing activities at the retreat center. We had so much fun! We connected with nature. We made new friends! We had the best truck camper spot we could dream of! We didn't want to leave! We plan to return again because this was truly a gem, and worth every penny spent, which also goes toward supporting a retreat center that is doing very important, deeply meaningful work. The energy of the retreat center carried over to our camping experience brilliantly! Thank you, Shana! Looking forward to our next visit!

Forest Meditation Sanctuary - 3973

Forest Meditation Sanctuary is a full time yoga/meditation retreat. It is also a conservation property which sits on the edge of a forest and has many trails. The hosts were very friendly and eager to show us around the property. One of the biggest buildings is their yoga/meditation center which hosts all types of classes focused on wellness. They just built a brand new building that will be open soon! We highly recommend staying here, we had a great time. Also Gainesville is about 30 minutes away, which has plenty to do considering the University.
