Spacious Old ST AUG NEAR It ALL!!!!
Terribly Disappointing
This stay was actually bizarre. Christian, the host, just happened to be there showing the house on property to a potential renter. And thank goodness for it. He had no idea we were coming, if we had paid, or for long we were staying. He said the Hipcamp app didn't work very well for him. That's how it started...
Thankfully again, we were the only ones there, because the property has only one 30 amp hook up located directly in front of the rental house. It was really an ordeal getting in place close enough to reach the connection. If you have solar, it would not be an issue because you could go to the back of the property and have plenty of room. The pics are very deceiving. There is stuff everywhere. It's not at all clean like it's represented. Unfortunately, I can't include pics here because I took a bunch of them. The "stored firepit" was 2 piles of tree debris. It would have created an inferno had we lit it. One might ask, why did you stay? We were desperate. Our State Park reservation was CX at last minute. Oh, and the water is sulfer smelling, brown well water. At $45 plus fees night, it's unacceptable. $12-$15 would be the price point for this place. Again, Hipcamp should let you share photos in reviews....

Spacious Old ST AUG NEAR It ALL!!!!
The site was great for our needs and close enough to the historical downtown that it was a good base for some sightseeing (though not close enough to ride our bikes). The property had plenty of space to maneuver multiple vehicles and was well-maintained. Though there were quite a few dogs roaming the neighborhood, once the front gate was closed it felt plenty secluded and private despite being in a yard.

Christian has numerous spots to choose from. In the front there are about 3 places, depending on your rig, and they are in the shade. We didn't realize until we were there that he has an ample back yard as well that has limited trees if you are solar powered. We had no problems commuting to downtown St Augustine, and really appreciated having a home base with electricity! Our rig is 30 ft, plus car and trailer.
