A stylish '80s-themed caravan in 'Shakespeare Country'
As Weezer once sang: "Beverly Hills, that's where I want to be." Well, not quite, but this retro caravan emulates a small slice of its Californian namesake with a British glamping slant. Inspired by The Beverly Hills Hotel, the pastel decor of this 'caraglamping' caravan also knowingly takes a leaf out of filmmaker Wes Anderson's book with its aesthetic, and while it's not exactly looking to match The Grand Budapest Hotel, there is still certainly nothing else quite like it.

Located on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon, the site looks to bring a little '9021-woah' to Warwickshire. Unsurprisingly, Beverley Thrills is run by an interior designer and art curator, Aly, who has used her experience to add a heap of style to the distinctly British caravan holiday. But while this might not look like any caravan you've seen before, the amenities are all there. There's a kitchenette, dining room, bedroom, and an eco-friendly shower room that utilises an external water butt for a sun-heated soak. A camping toilet is provided in the room for night time use and there is an additional plumbed toilet on site for the day time. The pitch,  located on a 'micro' orchard campsite, is lined with apple trees and offers neighbouring pitches for your friends to join you in their own campers or caravans.

With this being 'Shakespeare Country', your site is only a short drive away from the poet laureate's birthplace, situated along the River Avon. This picturesque stretch of water allows for boat hire and both public and private cruises, allowing you to admire the scenery alongside the swans. There's a variety of restaurants and bars to also enjoy here on top of soaking in the scenery, as is also the case in Leamington Spa — a short drive from the campsite. Then walk off all that grub with a ramble along The Monarch's Way, the huge long-distance footpath right next to the site. After all, you'll need to be in trim shape for those inevitable Instagram photoshoots in your one-of-kind '80s caravan.

Beverley Thrills Caravan
Had a fabulous few days away at the cutest retro caravan in Stratford upon Avon! Aly, the owner, made us feel so welcome. The quirky caravan is cosy and comfortable and absolutely perfectly situated to explore Stratford and the surrounding areas. The on-site shower room is spotlessly clean. Perfect little getaway place.

PROUD WINNER OF MUDDY STILETTOS 2022 ‘BEST BOUTIQUE STAY' IN WARWICKSHIRE & WEST MIDLANDS Welcome to Beverley Thrills Caraglamping - where caravanning meets glamping! A perfect getaway for couples, pals or young families our bijou caravan packs a mighty visual punch referencing the whimsical films of Wes Anderson in its lashings of terrazzo, to vintage ice cream parlours in its abundance of aluminium table trim. Outside we welcome you to “wine and recline” under our awning taking in the stunning orchard views from the comfort of our Adirondack sun loungers. The most ‘instagrammable’ staycation spot in the UK? We think so! But what is ‘caraglamping’ you say? Well, we invented the term to represent a notch above the traditional glamping experience whilst inviting you to encounter the delights of caravanning as you stay. With a bedroom, dining room, kitchenette and shower room all under one roof you have everything you need before you’ve even stepped onto your own private grass pitch, and with a mini heater and hard roof, the Beverley Thrills experience can be enjoyed in any weather. A bit about me - I’m Aly, an interior designer and art curator. I absolutely love meeting new people and playing host, and I've welcomed guests to my properties for many years now. So without further ado, welcome aboard Caraglampers! ... THINGS TO NOTE: PETS: As the caravan is petite we can only allow ONE SMALL WELL-TRAINED DOG PER STAY. There is an additional 'pet fee' of £10 to cover a deep clean after check out. Please notify us if you plan to bring your small dog so we can amend the overall booking fee. 3 GUESTS: The caravan is comfortable for two guests however there is sleeping space for a third person if couples, friends or young families are happy to 'cosy up' on the queen bed. Please let us know if you intend to bring a third person by selecting '3 guests' when making the booking. We have two outdoor sun loungers so if you area a three it's a good idea to bring an extra camping chair or blanket for the third person. BED SIZES: - Queen bed: 112cm wide x 203cm long - either a spacious bed for one person or a cosy sleep for two - Single bed: 66cm wide x 186cm long AWNING: - Due to a reliance on fair weather, the awning is only operational on still, sunny days from May - September

Beverley Thrills is situated at the beginning of the historic Monarch's Way long-distance footpath, named as such after King Charles II escaped through it following his defeat to Cromwell in the Civil Wars' final battle.

Stratford-upon-Avon, a 10-minute drive from the site, is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and as such is steeped in history while also being one of the prettiest market towns England has to offer. You can go boating in the River Avon, with motorboats and rowing boats available on a first-come-first-serve basis, while you can also book in public and private river cruises with Avon Boating (01789 267073).

The town of Warwick, also situated on the River Avon, is a 20-minute drive away from the site, and there you can visit the magnificent Warwick Castle (01926 406610). Food and drink

The aptly named The Farm (01789 731807) is just a brief stroll away from the site at less than a 5-minute walk, with this farm shop stocking essentials in its deli, wine merchant, and bakery. Much more than your typical farm shop, it also boasts a children's play area, farm animal pens, a homeware shop, and its own Nourish cafe that serves stone-baked pizzas. Take a trip along the Monarch's Way footpath and you will find the Welcombe Hills Vineyard (07810 813701), where you'll be able to enjoy its delicious selection of wine or book a vineyard tour or tasting table. Prior booking is essential.

Slightly further afield, Bobby's (07854 558124) is a 15-minute drive, with this independent deli occupying a converted train carriage dating back to 1955. In this unique setting, you can tuck into a variety of small plates or its brunch menu and indulge in a drink or two. Lambs (01789 292554) in Stratford's Sheep Street is also a 15-minute drive, with it offering British fine dining with local and freshly prepared food.
