This barndominium has a playful mix of modern, Swedish and rustic décor while being completely decked out to please animal lovers of all ages! Your backyard is an amazing oasis of barnyard animals such as an alpaca, miniature goats, fancy top-hat chickens, a red-haired pig, wooly sheep, turkeys, a mini-horse and even a peacock! Prepare to enjoy animals outside every house window! While you're here, play the "surfboard challenge" by landing a chicken treat on the surfboard and see if you can get them to jump up and "surf!" *NEW!!* Enjoy the "game zone" with a 1980's arcade and Velcro darts sure to please any gamers you may know! Kids also love the indoor scavenger hunt along with learning all the animal names that are posted. While here at the ranch, you can also enjoy one of our many on-site experiences, such as "Chores N' Tour" (feeding, watering, and learning about 20+ farm animals), "Brush N' Bond" (brushing horses together and basic ground safety), Canvas painting under the oak tree or try out my specialty, horse whispering! This stay caters to small families and couples looking to unwind in a peaceful, unique setting and engage in memorable experiences. Cowtown Cabins is just minutes from Maryland, Delaware beaches and restaurants galore. Also nearby is Thunder Lagoon Waterpark, live concerts at Freeman Stage, local vineyards, grocery stores, McDonald's, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Ocean Downs Casino, hiking and biking at James Farm, and more. Everything you could want is at your fingertips and very close by! If you desire to be at the beach, but skip the loud condo neighbors and OC crowds, then this is the place for you! What should I bring on my trip? Shelley suggests bringing drinking water, oil/ butter for cooking on stainless steel, slippers/ loafers, and campfire wood if using the firepit (or you can buy ours and have it delivered to your doorstep.) If you plan on doing "Chores N' Tour with Shelley and feeding all the farm animals, bring closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed for animal experiences. (Quick Note: Please leave home any bubble baths, bath bombs or salts as these are harmful on jacuzzis. Using plain water is best.) 2. Can I wander around the ranch, unattended? Keep in mind we are a small ranch and while 1/2 of our property is open, the other 1/2 is livestock pastures for our animal rescue and other rentals. You can walk to the Old West village, play a round of corn hole or enjoy the new horseshoe pit. Children under 18yo will need to be accompanied by an adult. 3. Can I access the all animals? The barndominium has its own, fenced barnyard that consists of a wooly sheep, a miniature horse, and an entire chicken coop where you can feed the chickens anytime while admiring our beautiful Indian peacock. You will also be able to see (but not touch) the turkeys, a mini pig, and an alpaca close by! 4. What other rentals are at the ranch? There is a tiny house, two bell tent yurts, mini-cabins and an entire Old West Village. YES! You can have friends and family rent other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.) 5. What's the history of the ranch? The property is a horse stable and animal rescue for two decades. Local students take weekly horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and other activities. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly. 6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street. 7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You'll need to be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the barndominium. 8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals and cleanings, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. 9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our on-site activities are the same price for everyone. 10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We do not allow any guest animals or pets to stay with us due to regulations and safety issues. We are also service animal exempt due to safety issues with nearby guardian livestock. 11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy at all times inside all of our rentals. The Swedish Cowboy space is located inside a barn and smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited while inside the barn house or directly outside. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the stable.) 12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without a code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here. 13. This home sleeps 4 guests *including* babies and children. Have more than 4? Add 5th, and 6th guests for $25.00 for each additional person for your stay. We do not accommodate more than 6 guests max. 14. What are the checkout procedures? We have a 5-step checkout process and ask that our guests leave the barn house the way they found it, (neat and tidy.) Our hidden "Game Zone" has an arcade, velcro darts, toys and board games for the kids and our library of interesting books. This is the perfect place to create unique memories and be just minutes to the beach. We are located 6 short miles to Fenwick Island, DE and North Ocean City, MD and surrounded by tons of excellent eateries, convenient grocery stores and more! This 750 square foot barn home, has two bedrooms, one full bath and three beds. There's 1 queen memory foam bed, 1 full bed, one pullout queen couch and of course a big jacuzzi to spoil yourself... The farm has all types of insects and wildlife. You’ll need to be proactive in keeping entrance doors shut behind you, so you don't bring the outside- inside. Smoking? Do you agree to follow the strict NO smoking/ no vaping inside or outside of the barn house? Excellent! Lastly, can you confirm that no animals are staying with you? Perfect! These rules are very important when staying at this space. ABOUT THE SPACE Escape the daily grind, kick off your boots and watch the sunset over the farm field at the Swedish Cowboy. This unique barndominium is a stunner with sleek and simple Swedish design with touches of farmhouse vibes throughout. Each room has its own theme animal, and the home opens up with 10' ceilings and a jacuzzi tub to sink into each evening. This 2-bedroom, 1 full bath home is just minutes from many popular area beaches and attractions, however you may not want to leave this gem! You'll also enjoy a 1980's style, five foot tall arcade in our "Game Zone" along with velcro darts, toys and board games for the kids and our library of cool books. I included a suggestion list of my favorite eateries and activities to explore. You really are close to absolutely everything! GUEST ANIMAL POLICY ***Sorry no dogs/ cats or animals are allowed to stay with due to insurance regulations and safety issues. SECURITY Safety first! The farm has multiple outdoor security cameras running & in use at all times. These outdoor cameras help protect humans and animals alike. Can I wonder around the ranch, unattended? Keep in mind we are a small ranch and while 1/2 of our property is open, the other 1/2 is livestock pastures and other Airbnb's. You cannot access the entire property due to safety reasons and our livestock habitats. You can however walk to the glampground, corn hole area, view the goats, view the horses but you cannot open our gates and access animals due to our safety policy. We also ask that you respectfully do not wonder into another guests fenced in yard and that you ALWAYS accompany children under 18 years of age. Yes, this means in the parking area also. Safety is our number one priority here. 3. Can I access the all animals? The barndominium has its own private, fenced yard that consists of an entire chicken coop where you can feed the chickens anytime you'd like, see an Indian peacock, scratch the mini goat welcoming committee, be our miniature horses neighbor and see (but not touch) a mini pig and an alpaca. Because of safety regulations, guests CANNOT go inside the animal enclosures. Guests who'd like to be more hands on, can book the ever-popular "Chores n Tour" with Shelley. Go ahead! Take selfies with the alpaca and try the roll over challenge with Charlotte the pig along with feed every animal on the ranch right alongside Shelley. This is the safest way to interact with farm animals, while still following safety rules. All ranch experiences can be booked once you check- in, but not before. 4. What other rentals are at the ranch? There is a tiny house, two bell tent yurts and an entire glampground at the ranch. 5. What's the history of the ranch? The property was a horse rescue for two decades. There are students that take horse lessons, the public that book guided educational tours, pony rides and paint parties. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber that's sold yearly along with fresh eggs. 6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property is registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, Shelley's students and tour guests, but not unknown people off the street. We also ask that you do not give out your temporary gate code while your here. 7. Can I catch an UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland or beyond. You'll need to be picked up at the entrance gate though, not at the barndominium.
