You will also be able to see (but not touch) the turkeys, a mini pig, and an alpaca close by! 4. What other rentals are at the ranch? There is a tiny house, two bell tent yurts, mini-cabins and an entire Old West Village. YES! You can have friends and family rent other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.) 5. What's the history of the ranch? The property is a horse stable and animal rescue for two decades. Local students take weekly horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and other activities. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly. 6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street. 7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You'll need to be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the barndominium. 8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals and cleanings, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. 9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our on-site activities are the same price for everyone. 10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We do not allow any guest animals or pets to stay with us due to regulations and safety issues. We are also service animal exempt due to safety issues with nearby guardian livestock. 11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy at all times inside all of our rentals. The Swedish Cowboy space is located inside a barn and smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited while inside the barn house or directly outside. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the stable.) 12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without a code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here. 13. This home sleeps 4 guests *including* babies and children. Have more than 4? Add 5th, and 6th guests for $25.00 for each additional person for your stay. We do not accommodate more than 6 guests max. 14. What are the checkout procedures? HORSES WELCOME!  Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day.  There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay.  We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom.  It can easily sleep six people.  If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area.  The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in.  This is a sanctuary for our animals.  We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies).  By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals.  We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks.  There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores.  If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles.  We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up.  We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you.  So please come, stay at our farm and relax.  We are here year round.

Which yurt should I choose? The main difference between the Painted Pony yurt and the Stargazer yurt is the roof and setting. The Stargazer yurt has a clear roof and sits in the open. (Keep in mind elements out of our control like wind, dust, and pollen counts can make the Stargazer yurt roof less clear.) The Painted Pony yurt, has a regular canvas roof and sits in the shade. Both yurts have 3-speed fans included and do not have AC or heat. 5. Extra guests in the yurt? The yurts have a strict 2-guest-only policy. 6. Can friends (not on my reservation) come visit me? No. All visitors here must be registered guests as the public is not granted access here. 7. How far is the beach? North Ocean City, MD and Fenwick Island DE are both only 5-6 miles away. 8. How secure is the camping area? There is a coded entrance gate at the property entrance along with 6 outdoor security cameras that stay on 24 hours a day for guest and livestock safety. The locations are 2 at the entrance gate, barn house entrance/building overhang, tiny house entrance, horse grooming area, parking area, and inside the stables. These outdoor cameras also record at night and are available for any emergency services to review. 9. Are there animals nearby? Yes! Cowtown is named after our unique Scottish Highland bull with one horn up and one down. You'll see “Herbie” peacefully grazing in a nearby pasture along with horses, goats, an alpaca, a sheep, a rare curly-haired pig, a peacock, and fancy top-hat chickens that all call the ranch home. 10. Participating in a guest activity is mandatory here. We have FREE indoor scavenger hunts and the FREE Name Challenge memory game. Our most popular experience is "Chores N' Tour” where you meet up with Shelley to feed and get up close and personal while feeding 20+ animals. Go ahead! take selfies with Fonzie the kissing alpaca, play the rollover challenge with Charlotte the pig, and hay the jumping goats. As a bonus, Shelley will also let you check out the inside of any unoccupied Airbnbs on the property to plan your next trip! Chores N' tour is $10/ person. 1 hr. long. Also on-site, are Brush N' Bond horse grooming sessions, horse whispering lessons, and farm animal paint sessions. Once you book, send Shelley a message with your chosen ranch activity! 11. Do guests have access to the entire ranch? No, guests have access to the glampground, cornhole, and parking area here at the ranch. The rest of the property is reserved for animal pastures (habitats) and fenced off for safety. Animals are easily viewed from all locations but not touched. 12. What sounds can I expect to hear? Expect to hear typical sounds of nature such as crickets, owls, and the crackling of a fire. In the morning, you'll hear our sweet goat trio, Charlotte the pig, and her excited "oinks" along with the occasional "moooo" and possibly a crow from the rooster and a "honk" from Petey our peacock who is ready for breakfast! 13. Located on the Delmarva Peninsula, the Unplugged Forest offers a rare blend of history, nature, and privacy, for you are the only one enjoying the space. We sit directly on the Mason–Dixon Line, marked by an original 1764 historical stone dividing Federalsburg, MD and Bridgeville, DE. Though just five miles from either town, the forest feels completely secluded. Our farm spans 41 acres. Thirty-one acres hold our homestead, while the remaining 10 acres, your camping sanctuary—sitting along side a dirt road, separated by a peaceful non-tidal creek. This setting allows you to unplug while staying close to popular destinations like Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, and Ocean City, MD, as well as Milford, Milton, Rehoboth, and Lewes, DE all within an hour. We’ve intentionally created an off-grid, calming nature experience. You’ll be surrounded by forest, open farmland and abundant wildlife. Native gardens, fruit & nut trees and herbs were planted near the tent areas in September 2024, offering beauty and a deeper connection to the land. Enjoy thoughtfully placed gathering spaces throughout the forest, including a whimsical Forest Tea Party area and Uncontained, our cozy repurposed shipping container—perfect for reading, board games, or shelter during a summer pop-up thunderstorm. A nature -made hammock area amongst tall pine trees is perfect for afternoon naps and are provided by us (7) Fire-pit seating, picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and a propane cooktop are also available. Walk the short Jeremiah Dixon & Charles Mason Trail, a path similar to one they would have taken in the 1700s. Follow it through the forest and across the creek to our homestead, where you can place one foot in Maryland and one in Delaware at the historic Mason–Dixon marker beneath an old wild cherry tree. Before heading back, stop at the main farm gate to visit our friendly goats—Dixie, Dolly, and Star. Come rest, wander, and reconnect—for this calming experience is where time slows and nature leads.

This was a fantastic experience and the tiny cabin was exceptionally cozy and so cute with sparkling lights, heaters, fire pits, and hot tub. Andrea's farm tour was incredible, I wish I lived closer as to visit more and help with the chores! Very eye-opening, they care about their animals so much and care for the community, which all in all made it a great bday trip :) Our dog was so excited seeing the animals, who were all so sweet and made us immediately want to get into the farming business! Thank you so much and we will be sure to visit again. [Also the surrounding area is very nice and close to a lot of cute and cozy shops; or even just a little drive south to Rehoboth or north to Wilmington!]

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Andrea's instructions were perfect. The bathhouse was the nicest I have experienced. Andrea and Michael were very friendly, authentic, down-to-earth people who welcomed me like I was an old friend. I was able to purchase farm fresh eggs, which were amazing! Interacting with the animals was both enjoyable and educational. Michael shared his animal knowledge and answered all of my questions. I felt renewed and experienced peace during my stay here. Oh my gosh....What an absolutely fabulous little gem this tiny house is! Lovely and clean, with a microwave , fridge, heat and AC, and coffee maker. A cozy fire pit is nearby as is a hot tub surrounded by twinkling lights. Andrea was such a super helpful hostess and genuinely nice getting me set up. And of course , it was fun to go visit the goats and farm animals. It was just the getaway I needed and I will definitely be back! 😃🐐🐖🐎🐈🐕🐄🔥❤️

Weekend Trip to Adventures Await Retreat & Meadery

This camp is a very quiet rural location (45 minutes to Lewes and Cape May Ferry) and has a great list of amenities. The camp hosts are welcoming and very helpful. Shout-out to Dave for assisting us on arrival. The animals are cool and mostly friendly. The pool looked nice as did the meadery- didn't have time to try these. The nature walk was really nice and easy to follow. Now to the sites themselves - if you're looking at a full hook-up site, you will need to bring plenty of waste line and water line as the utility layout is challenging. Our recommendation is to call ahead and ask about site layout. Upon departure we ended up dumping our full grey and black tanks at Killen Pond State Park about 9 miles away. For those with 30-Amp rigs, do have a 50-amp converter in your electric box for flexibility in site selection. Overall, a nice long weekend stay with friendly hosts.

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet. I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.

We absolutely love camping here. We just stayed for our third time. What a lovely horse farm and it's so nice to be able to walk our dog off leash. The farm dogs are very friendly and love to come over and be petted and hang out for a spell. Best part of this site for us is the fact that it's less than 8 mi from our house so it's a convenient getaway.

Carol and Dan were amazing hosts. I was lucky to be able to move to Willow Oak 3, which was absolutely awesome. Quiet, remote, and utterly perfect. The site was clean with a nice tent pad for comfortable set up. It’s a simple but perfect plot of land to spend a few days. My dog was also super comfortable and able to be off leash throughout most of the stay.
