Indulge in the charm of a custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspens. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining cabin is situated on 2 acres, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24. Since we are 100% OFF GRID we do not have a well or septic system. I bring 3-4 (5) gallon jugs of water and dump them in the tank under the sink when I stay. It's very easy and is plenty water when used conservatively. This water will run the kitchen and bathroom sink as well as the shower. The shower itself uses 1.75 gallons per minute. If you use the shower, make it quick! NOTE: Do not allow the water level to fall below the pipes on the bottom of the tank. You can see the water level through the tank. This will put air in the water pump and trigger a $300 handyman trip. There is a composting toilet. If you are not willing to dump a bucket of your own urine under a tree when you leave, this place is not for you. It will fill up and overflow onto the bathroom floor if you are there for more than 1-2 days. Keep an eye on it and empty as necessary. Don't leave your human waste for the next guest to deal with. Gross! There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. Bring sleeping bags if you plan on sleeping in the loft! The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. This place is brand new and we are still working things out. There is a stool under the stairs and the box in the corner was designed to be used as a seat/ottoman. Lay out a blanket on the brand new Huge deck and bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and stargaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer at 11 Mile Reservoir. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Eleven Mile Reservoir is just a few minutes away by car. Detailed arrival and departure instructions are on our website. You will receive a guest password upon booking on how to use the unique systems in the cabin. You must agree to read it thoroughly before your arrival. This is our family cabin, not an Airbnb. You will be required to sign a a contract with a credit card for a deposit before your arrival. Note: during the months of November through May, the cabin is dry with no running water. Looking to host a retreat? Contact Raemi for details at 303-975-6746It’s like camping, but with a bunch of amenities like a refrigerator, a full stove and oven, lights and heat. We do not have a well. Bring some 5 gallon jugs to fill under the sink. There may be water in the tank under the kitchen sink but you will need to bring your own if you want to be able to take a shower. You are responsible for your own water supply. The shower puts out 1.75 gallons per minute. There is a water filling station next to the fire station on the west end of Florissant. It delivers 100 gallons for one dollar in quarters. You need a hose. There’s a hose in the shed Or pick one up at Ace Hardware across the street. You must call 303-975-6746 before we will accept your booking request. We have a composting toilet, no septic system and will go over the importance of using it properly! This fun Tiny House is luxury camping. Bring sheets or sleeping bags and water. We have dishes, flatware and basic cooking supplies for you. If you use three twin mattresses in the loft for sleeping purposes you need to bring sleeping bags as there are no sheets on them. Kids OVER 10 allowed with caution. There is a steep ladder to the loft and a propane heater on the wall with an open flame. The house is self sustaining using solar panels to bring electricity to the house including a hot water heater. But remember, we don’t have a well. Upstairs is a comfy queen bed with an electric fireplace. Bring sheets or sleeping bags. It has a warm duvet comforter on it. The lounge loft has 2 separate narrow twin mattresses, a TV a record player and a guitar. There is a heater in the main area that runs off propane. It heats the entire house quickly. In the winter you can make a fire in the wood burning stove but do so at your own risk. The flu is metal and runs straight up to the ceiling next to the staircase banister. It will get piping hot. Use caution and don’t touch it. 😬 In summer months, it gets to be about 75° in the house. There are two air-conditioning units. One in each loft. *NOTE The cabin is dry beginning November through mid May and will not have running water available. If you’re into stars and planets like us, you can use the telescope and take amazing pictures with your phone! It feels like you’re in a planetarium. Please take extra care. If anything happens to the telescope or its parts, it’s on you! Rent the on site paddle board and go to 11 Mile reservoir- 10 miles away- the most beautiful lake dropped down in the mountains. Available July 2024. Relax under the aspens at the propane fire pit on the porch while you disconnect from the hustle of your daily grind. Bring your favorite vinyl LPs or play one on the many vintage records and games we have in the lounge loft. Bluetooth speaker available for your own music. Wi-Fi is available and there is a TV in both lofts.

Forest cabin tiny house
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Milky Way Cabin, and it was a delightful experience that perfectly blended rustic charm with modern comforts. The cabin’s location under a canopy of aspens provided a serene and picturesque setting. It was the perfect set up for me as I was escaping in order to write and design graphics for an upcoming project. It was also great for relaxing and disconnecting from the hustle of daily life. One of my favorite moments was sitting on the porch every morning with a cup of coffee while being greeted by a woodpecker and family of blue birds. Inside, the cabin is well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Do take note that they have no well, so you have to bring in your own water, but the tank is plenty big and if filled according to Raemi’s notes you’ll be just fine. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials for cooking. Also, for those wondering, the WIFI is amazing and I never had an issue. It was actually faster than what I have at home. The main highlight of my stay was stargazing in the evenings. It truly felt like you had a front row seat to our amazing galaxy. It can be a little chilly in the evening so grab a blanket or turn on the fireplace. The Milky Way Cabin is a unique and charming escape. Whether you're lounging in the loft, enjoying the serenity or exploring nearby 11 Mile reservoir, this place has everything you need for a relaxing and memorable getaway. Highly recommended!

Forest cabin tiny house
Weekend Gateaway to Tiny House
I wanted to find some time for myself away from the crowds while still being in touch with civilization and this place was perfect for that. The aspen trees around the house provide a sense of privacy and makes it feel secluded from the roads. The house itself is quite cozy and has all the things you need to feel at home. The dining table was perfect for writing and journaling my thoughts while listening to Bob Dylan on vinyl. Sitting by the propane fire pit and enjoying the night skies from the porch was extremely therapeutic.
