Disconnect and relax at our custom-built tiny house nestled against a grove of Aspen trees. This 100% solar-powered and self-sustaining cabin is situated on 2 acres at 9300 feet above sea level, accessible via a scenic 13-mile drive on dirt roads off Hwy 24 in Florissant, Colorado. Since we are 100% OFF GRID we do not have a well or septic system. Bring 4-5 (5) gallon jugs of water and dump them in the tank under the sink. It's very easy and is plenty water when used conservatively. This way you will have running water. The shower itself uses 1.75 gallons per minute. If you decide to use the shower, make it quick! NOTE: The cabin will be dry beginning October through May for the winter. You can still boil water in the kettle and put it in the sink for a hot water wash-up. Just no running water. There is a water filling station next to the Fire Station in Florissant. You can fill up your jugs of water there. Bring a short hose. Ace Hardware has them across the street if you forget. One dollar in quarters will get you 20 gallons. They are closed on weekends. There is another one in Divide. IMPORTANT: Do not allow the water level to fall below 1/4 tank. If the water gets too low it can cause an expensive repair. The tank holds 48 gallons. There is a composting toilet. It's very easy to use. We've made a quick video on how to use it. Visit our website at www.themilkywaycabin.com. Keep an eye on the urine container and it and empty as necessary. There are two lofts. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin mattresses made of foam that fold in to chairs. Bring sleeping bags if you plan on sleeping in the loft! The kitchen table is flat against the wall and folds down when needed. Turn and pull out the lever on top release the table. This place is brand new and we are still working things out. There is a stool under the stairs and the box in the corner was designed to be used as a seat/ottoman. Lay out a blanket on the brand new Huge deck and bring binoculars or use our telescope (available in the summer only and located in the shed) and stargaze! Lots of things to do including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing in the summer at 11 Mile Reservoir. Go snow shoeing, rent a Polaris in Woodland Park, and snow mobiling in Buena Vista. Eleven Mile Reservoir is just a few minutes away by car. Detailed arrival and departure instructions are on our website. You will receive a guest password upon booking on how to use the unique systems in the cabin. You must agree to read it thoroughly before your arrival. This is our family cabin, not an Airbnb. If you do not empty the urine bucket upon departure you will be charged a $150 cleaning fee. We have security cameras for when the place is vacant. We turn them off when there are guests for your privacy. Contact Raemi for more details at 303-975-6746This is our brand new and special Tiny House Elevation 9300 feet Visit the website at www.themilkywaycabin.com and read all about it before making a booking request. There are special instructions if you stay here. 🌟🌟🌟 We must speak with you within 24 hrs of making a booking request. Please watch the composting toilet video on our website before you call. We will go over the specifics with you before we accept your request. Call 303-975-6746. We look forward to hearing from you!! *NOTE The cabin is dry from October through mid May and will not have running water available. You can still boil water in the tea kettle and dump it in the sink for a warm water rinse off. Relax under the aspens and disconnect from the hustle of your daily grind. Reconnect with nature under stars like you’ve never seen. Bring sheets and pillow cases (or sleeping bags) for the beds, towels and water. We supply you with warm blankets and pillows. We do not have a well. Bring at least 4 five gallon jugs to put in the tank under the sink for 2 people (summer months only). Don't let it get below the safety line or you risk burning out the pump which is an expensive repair. If you run low, there is a water filling station next to the fire station on the west end of Florissant. It is sometimes closed on weekends (randomly) It delivers 20 gallons for one dollar in quarters. You need a hose. There’s a hose in the shed. If the Florissant station is closed, there is one in Divide 10 mins down HWY 24. The shower puts out 1.75 gallons per minute. This fun Tiny House is luxury camping. Bring sheets and pillow cases or sleeping bags, towels, and water. We have dishes, flatware and basic cooking supplies for you. Kids OVER 10 allowed with caution. There is a steep ladder to the loft and a propane heater on the wall with an open flame. The house is self sustaining using solar panels to bring electricity to the house. When there are a few cloudy days in a row, there will be no electricity. There are two lanterns in the house and 2 portable backup batteries you can plug your devices into (and the Starlink router for internet) if this happens. Upstairs is a comfy queen bed with an electric fireplace and TV. Bring sheets or sleeping bags. It has a warm alpaca blanket on it. There are extra blankets in the wood box downstairs. In the lounge loft, you will find some games, a TV, a record player, guitar and even a ukulele 😉 For chilly nights, there is a propane heater inside on the wall. It heats the entire house quickly. In the summer bring water and fill the tank under the sink to have running water, but do not let the water level drop below the minimum line or it could burn out the pump. 15-20 gallons is plenty for 2 people for 2 days if you do not use the shower. If you’re into stars and planets you can use the telescope and take amazing pictures with your phone! It feels like you’re in a planetarium. Please take extra care. If anything happens to the telescope or its parts, it’s on you! Rent the on site paddle board and go to 11 Mile reservoir- 10 miles away- the most beautiful lake dropped down in the mountains. For our out of town guests we will provide you with water and sheet/towel service as an add on. Wi-Fi is available- Starlink works great. This is our families’s brand new cabin and we are sharing with you. Please take care!

The Milky Way Cabin
Must return!
"The best thing I did was discovering this place, and the only mistake was booking only one day. Upon arrival, I found a true vacation, free from all routines, and I enjoyed a stunning starry shower at night, which brought back memories of long-forgotten romance. I left with the anticipation of my next visit, but with a sense of regret. My wife told me, 'Thank you so much for bringing me here, I had a great time and we should definitely come back.' I agree, and I can't wait to return."

The perfect bday getaway!
My fiancé and I planned a little birthday get away. The Milky Cabin was perfect- so peaceful and beautiful. Raemi thought of everything- a gas fire pit, flashlights, blankets, and literally everything we needed. The place was stunning and so well crafted. I would highly recommend.

Camping made easy!
Raemi's tiny house was well thought out and cared for. You get all the comforts of home while staying in the mountains. Raemi communicated well and things are labeled so you don't have to waste time figuring it out yourself. It is easy to get to Eleven Mile Res. Hanging out at the property was quiet and relaxing. Little to no traffic from the neighbors. Stars were amazing! We saw lots of animals during our stay. Would definitely go back!

Camping with a twist
Raemi’s land was the best glamping experience I could ask for. If you’re looking for camping with a little extra, the Milky Way cabin will be perfect! I will have to say if you’re looking for an Air BnB this is not the place for you. There are many things that you must be aware of such as water, waste, and real camping experiences. There are many things of use to the public such as dishes, appliances, extra blankets, etc… but make sure you bring your own sheets, food, water, and towels. I recommend checking out the 11 mile canyon and renting out the paddle board, it is well worth it.. just make sure to check the weather before heading out. On that note the Milky Way cabin has great Wifi, so no need to worry about service. Make sure you load up directions to anywhere you may be headed to, or before you leave the cabin. Just to add on, the public water station Raemi mentions in the listing was closed my entire trip, but there is another public water station just 10 mins down the road in Divide from the Florissant station. Make sure you bring your own water cans and a hose, the Divide station is cash, not coins! As long as you watch your water waste 20 gallons of water was perfect my bf and I to do dishes, showers, and basic needs. Raemi was also very responsive and answered all my questions with in minutes. I highly recommend Raemi’s land, it’s beautiful and peaceful, one of the best experiences I’ve had!

Can't wait to be back!
This tiny home was extremely impressive. From the amenities, interior design, clean interior, views, etc. The host Raemi is very communicative and provides a website with all the instructions that explain how the off grid tiny home works. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is slightly interested. I was very pleased to see all the kitchenware that was provided. Lastly the deck and the fire pit is where we spent a lot of time and truly enjoyed it.
