Tater's was voted a 2024 top runner up as 'Best Hipcamp in Colorado'. 35 acres of bliss shared with 2 humans, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 horses and 4 chickens [Eggs may be available upon request]. Black Canyon National Park is a short drive to the west. Conveniently located to Crawford and the North Fork Valley to wineries, music fests and local eateries. Incredible views and dark skies make the perfect respite for just hanging out, climbing in the Black, foodie time in the North Fork Valley or pretty much whatever you like to do. Hunters are welcome as this is a perfect base camp to Unit 63.

Site 2 - Tater's Black Canyon Campground

Great views, access to the park. Traci was kind to bring over her horse for me to greet. We didn’t get to meet Tater on this visit but still thoroughly enjoyed our time. The spots were close together but large and we didn’t have any other campers so we had the space to ourselves. We really appreciated the beautiful new bath house and bathroom.

Site 1 - Tater's Black Canyon Campground

Great View!

We had a great time at Tater's! It was clean, easy to get to and the view was awesome! The new bathouse was great and very clean. We spent two nights out there and went into Black Canyon of the Gunnison Park one day and Curacanti Recreation Area the next. And the stargazing was INSANE! The only downside was that we didn't meet Tater haha. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

Site 2 - Tater's Black Canyon Campground

Amazing experience!

We had an amazing time at Taters! The bath houses are clean and always stocked with toilet paper. Bring your own soap for hand washing! They have a few beautiful horses on their property were fun to watch. The driveway up to the property is a dirt road with a few deeper ruts and bumps. No low riders! Lol. The view is breathtaking we enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning. There is a reservoir for swimming and kayaking and a gas station down the road. The little town with a couple fun shops and coffee was enjoyable! Needle rock was a great hike, bring sunscreen!! We ran into car trouble towards the end of our trip and they were very understanding and accommodating. We would absolutely would come back in a heart beat!

This campsite was perfect for a night in our van! The views are spectacular, the restrooms are clean, and the location is near Black Canyon national park.

Amazing!

Perfect stay at Taters! Spot was gorgeous, Traci and Chris were so accommodating, and the bathrooms were flawless and the highlight of our midweek stay of being on the road! Gorgeous views all around! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Lovely spot, great view, quiet, not as many bugs as in Hotchkiss. Nice toilet/shower building
