The unusual dirt dwellings are a mystery. A local old timer said 75 ys. ago he rode by with his dad and it was a chicken farm. The small fresh water spring no doubt provided water for animals and travelers alike and maybe even serviced the stage coach that came from Meeker.. A visiting miner/ college grad said the rock formations are not found elsewhere. Learn more about this land: We were told by a geologist it is a geologically unique area. Small spring comes down the mountain all year. Historic earthen foundations on rear of property , we don't know the builders. Rear of property Backs up to BLM land, but it is very steep and there are large loose rock, climbing not advised here, if you walk a little further to the east the climb is safer. Many animals including a mountain lion are present. The cleaning fee of $10.00 only applies if you bring a pet. Private Mountain.

Great getaway location

Did a paddle on the Colorado and a gravel ride around Rifle so this location was in a perfect location for that. The pictures were taken a few years ago it looks like, the outdoor space is a bit weedy now. But trailer was clean and the view is pretty great. There is some highway noise, so it's not remote but peaceful enough to relax. Plan on another visit for sure.

Private Mountain.

My fiance and I were here to scout out for hunting trips. We weren't in much, just to eat, sleep and shower. Considering we are use to tent camping, we felt like we were living in paradise. AC, hot water, fridge! Greg was wonderful, offered us coffee, fresh eggs and butter to cook with, which we so much enjoyed. We woke up to the horses at our kitchen window. We honestly couldn't have asked for better. Thank you Greg! Hoping we can come back again

Home Away from Home 🥰🏠🏔️

Greg was fantastic from start to finish with our stay. We came for a girls weekend and planned on checking out Rifle, Glenwood Springs and Palisade during our stay. Greg was great about telling us all Rifle had to offer and even the Peach Festival that we went to! His place was easy to find and the camper had all we needed to make yummy meals and keep our food refrigerated or frozen. He brought us farm fresh eggs, butter and water. The bathroom was fully stocked as well. We shared the bed but the futon was also very comfortable and cozy. The views in the morning were fantastic as well. We really enjoyed his beautiful horses as well. I truly felt like I was staying with family. I’m already planning my next trip with my boyfriend after loving my first experience so much.

Wonderful hospitality. Kind hosts. Beautiful land. Comfortable stay! We loved every minute. A few favorites: the animals, homemade bread & jam, the stars at night, warm hosts.

Gorgios Mountain views!

Wow! Felt like we were staying at a B&B! Easy to find and so comfortable. We walked into the cutest RV with homemade delicious jelly, fresh baked bread and the eggs! Everything we needed was provided from well stocked kitchen, fresh sheets, and even woke up to a bowl of hand picked strawberries. Greg and his wife are an amazing couple who made us feel like family. Can't wait to get back so we can relax while enjoying the gorgios mountain views in beautiful Rifle, Co!
