Riverside Vintage Camper - Sandie
Great place! It was super cute and well equipped. It had a microwave, portable stove, toaster, cutlery, and plates. Would definitely recommend.
Riverside Vintage Camper - Sandie
Quaint and adorable little camper; farmhouse vibes from the 50s, very clean, lots of storage, I could probably live in it, if it was just me! Not as private as we though, basically a bush separates the camper from the house. And the neighbor is in view. Not sure where the 26 acres extended to, maybe the hill that we stared at across the creek? The creek was relaxing, nice to have to clean, and the dogs loved it. I wouldn’t call this trip dog friendly, though. Once we arrived, owner said they preferred the dogs to not be in the camper alone, or at all if possible, so we were unable to have our dinner date, or leave the dogs to go dirt bike riding. That sucked, probably wouldn’t have booked it if we knew the dogs weren’t allowed in to stay ahead of time. Maybe for one person who just needs a place to lay over for a nice. Not the romantic get away I was hoping for. Tons of bugs. Great communication for the most part—no cell service for miles but we were given that information ahead of time. Nice people. But we prefer privacy.

wonderful location & lodging
I made a last-minute reservation at the Shasta and feel lucky! The location is peaceful and quiet-- feeling very remote, yet close to Gunnison. The camper is clean, well-equipped and nicely decorated. Alyssa offered to supply a grill but I got carryout from Delektabowl in Gunnison (as well as some cold brew coffee for the morning). The remote-controlled generator was very convenient. It powered the water (cold only), lights, heater, and AC. I tried to do without the heater overnight to prevent blocking out the sound of the creek, but I eventually switched it on (my stay was in July). The composting outhouse was very clean and smelled like cedar (mostly!) Mosquitoes share the space in the evening, so be sure to bring repellent. Alyssa warned me that there's no cell service at the camper, so I downloaded an offline map for the area (using Google maps) & had no problems. It was nice to detox from my phone! I also appreciated the snacks in the fridge. Alyssa is a great communicator and very kind!
