Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Nearly 7 acres overlooking the White River on the edge of White River National Forest. 1/4 mile of private fishing bordering a wildlife preserve which offers nearly another mile of public fishing on the White River and Coal Creek. Take your UTV/ATV to town or for a day ride upriver directly from the campsite as the camp is situated on the OHV trail that extends from town (2 miles from the campsite) to the White River National Forest (more than 40 miles up the river). Raft or tube to town or just to the bridge below the property. Incredible views and wildlife galore. Turkeys often rest in the trees across the river, and it is not uncommon to watch deer tangle antlers during the rut. Eagles nest in the trees across the river and are often seen fishing from the trees directly across from the campsite. The sunsets from this campsite will leave you breathless. Nothing better than camping, relaxing or fishing on the White River!Nearly 7 acres overlooking the White River on the edge of White River National Forest. Beautiful Spot
The spot is situated above a river and is absolutely beautiful. There wasn’t an actual designated driveway into the spot, though. With the size of our 5th wheel, we were reluctant to try to get down to it. Patricia was quickly trying to help us with directions and stated other 5th wheels had been down to the site with no problem. We wound up not staying, but we think smaller RVs and camping vehicles would have no issue getting to this beautiful spot. Patricia was helpful before, during, and after, and we appreciated her.

River camping
We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this place is. Access to the river was easy and the view is amazing. The neighbors boxer dog made for some comical relief l, the pup was watching us the whole time from his little look out behind the fence but never barked … 😂

Riverfront Retreat
Host has done best she can with the site. But it is right on road with no place to walk and difficult access to river. Does have beautiful view to south and good sound of the river. Clean with a cute table and chairs. I would not recommend it.

Riverfront Retreat is a Real Treat
Riverfront Retreat was wonderful! Peaceful with beautiful views of the White River, wildlife viewing and falling to sleep with the sound of the river - what could be better! We spotted mule deer, red breasted mergansers and eagles right from the campsite. There also is access to the river to fish. Patricia did a great job communicating with us and providing detailed information about the location and best way to access the campsite. We highly recommend Riverfront Retreat!
