Cottage Cabin on 100 Acres w/Stream
Great accommodations
This is our second trip to Jeff’s property and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Phantom Canyon area is beautiful and a little hidden gem away from Colorado Springs and Denver. Behind this particular site, there’s a little creek that runs through and there’s a hole in one part of it where all of the fish congregate when the water level is low. The water is crystal clear, so it was fun for our six year old to feed the fish. She loved exploring the property and climbing all the rocks. We appreciated that the property was dog friendly so we were able to bring them along as well. Make sure you bring enough water for your stay and a little extra just in case. There is no heat, so plan your bedding & outerwear appropriately to account for that as it does get quite chilly in the little houses at night. We can’t wait to come back again!

Cottage Cabin Nestled in Aspens
Cozy cabin in an Aspen Forrest
We had a lovely time, the Autumn colors were amazing, fun hikes next to the creek and up the hill. Cozy, cabin with a comfy Queen bed. Nicely lit with candles to provide enough light inside.

Cottage Cabin Nestled in Aspens
Nice tiny cabin in Phantom Canyon
We stayed in Cottage Cabin #2 and had a great time! It is nestled by a group of aspen trees and rock outcroppings. Our 6 yr old had a fun running through the woods right by the side of the cabin and climbing the rocks. There was a little bit of water trickling in the hidden stream too. We hung a hammock in the trees, collected raspberries right behind the cabin and hiked all through the woods. Remember to bring all of your linens & pillows, food/snacks/plenty of ice and all the water you will need for the whole trip, flashlights, a full size propane tank, camp stove, utensils and plates, as it's a little bit of a drive to get to town for more supplies. The upper bunk bed uses twin size sheets and the lower bed used queen. We preferred bringing sheets and blankets instead of our sleeping bags. Our dogs loved the property too and enjoyed exploring the woods with us. We took a drive farther through the canyon one day and stopped to play in the stream all afternoon. We passed a nice hiking trail too in the canyon, but didn't hike it this trip (next time). We went to see Rita the Troll the day we went into Victor & Cripple Creek, which is a fun little hike to see her. We can't wait to come back in a few months to see the leaves changing. It's such a pretty area and a little hidden gem. Thanks for the great stay!
