Mountain top camping w/ views!
Hot hot hot!
We read “off-leash friendly,” and campfires allowed, and we saw positive reviews that included praise for a communicative host, so we signed up—and were pretty disappointed from the moment we arrived. Zero trees = 0 shade and no way to string up a tarp that would provide shade, so the strong sun was scorching and unrelenting. Our pups’ coats were immediately filled with cockleburrs head to tail upon stepping out of the vehicle into the waist-high weeds. And the description said nothing about the fire pit being communal. No desire to share the fire pit with strangers. There was dog poop around the fire pit, and random folding chairs by a dilapidated grill. The weeds were knocked down to spiky nubs around the fire pit, but that was the only cleared space—we had to search hard to find the spots where one might pitch a tent, and what we found was so overgrown it was not at all inviting. We tried contacting the host, but never got a reply. (Nor any response to earlier questions at the time we booked. Just one form greeting and then crickets.) So we left and found wonderful dispersed camping elsewhere.
Look, we’re not spoiled glampers—the whole group loves to backpack and rough it in wild places—but we paid for this and expected better.
Giving 2 stars because of this redeeming quality: it’s got to be beautiful up here in the fall, when the aspens turn gold and all the scrub oak goes red and orange—sunsets and sunrises must be awesome when it’s cooler.

We didn’t end up staying the night because our RV wouldn’t make it up the path (after some rain it was pretty muddy) but Anna was a great communicator and very kind. She offered a back up spot on her property but we declined and found a campsite in Hayden. Anna refunded us the next day. Would definitely recommend Anna’s property based off the description and great host.

Mountain top camping w/ views!
Loved the location. The views were absolutely amazing from every direction. It is a short and convenient 15 minute drive from downtown Steamboat Springs. The only downfall is that the firepit is communal. This wouldn’t have been an issue, however, the people occupying the other campsite were disrespectful (took up most of the site and firepit area, didn’t leash their aggressive dogs, and used up the supply of wood we bought).

Beautiful property
Beautiful and peaceful views with plenty of space. Very quiet property convenient to Steamboat and some great hiking/biking. While we loved the stay, I will advise that the climb up is a little steep and it got muddy and slick when it rained, which gave our heavy van trouble (even 4x4) when the tires gummed up with clay mud. Definitely gave us some extra adventure ;) ! Thanks for hosting us, Anna!

Mountain top camping w/ views!
It was easy to find and such a beautiful open perch with mountain views all around. Fall colors were popping. There is a small amount of road noise every so often but aside from that it’s very quiet and private. Stars are incredible!
