Our land is out away from all the noise and lights. You can see the milky way and the stars at night are amazing. then to have the view of the Sangre de Christo mountain range is amazing to enjoy. The surrounding valley has lots to offer from the quant little towns and coffee shops to the home style meals at the restaurants. and all the hot springs are amazing. Your site is overlooking the Sangre de Christo mountain range. The land is Alpine desert with sagebrush and ground cactus and incredible star gazing. There are 2 great hiking trails within a couple miles. There are 3 hot springs within 30 minutes. The Great sand dunes national park is within 1hr. The San Luis valley offers, hiking, mountain biking, ATV trail, Horse back riding, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, rafting, refuges for wildlife watching. New for 2024, The flushable toilet and shower are now operational. The shower house is located in the center of the loop with sites 1,2,3 on the south side of the building. It has an on demand water heater, there is also a a flushable toilet located in the same space. No fireworks are permitted at any time.

This was a fantastic camp site. We had a gorgeous view of the mountains and Paul was super helpful filling up our water in the morning and providing us firewood. I would highly recommend staying here!

GO HERE!!

We had 4 people in all tenting with us here at this campsite and we all thought it was amazing! Paul and his wife go out of their way to help any way they can and the wife even made my wife a birthday gift! Hospitality was more than I could ask for. Will be going back next year!!

Perfect setting

I absolutely loved this place. Very private camp sight and sweeping mountain views everywhere you look. You can see the weather moving over the mountains along the range. Just very peaceful. Pretty special place. The hosts are great as well, very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend!

I really enjoyed camping here. The amenities were great. Nice little place. Darn secluded. Middle of the night was incredible with the darkness and stars.

Perfect Alpine Desert Campground

We really loved tent camping at Paul’s place! The scenery is gorgeous and we got lucky to be here when so many desert flowers blooming. We loved waking up to birds singing (we saw sage thrashers and finches and heard several others) and seeing antelope across the fields. Loved the security of being behind a locked gate, and REALLY appreciated the flush toilet and awesome camp shower. We appreciated all the amenities like community hammocks for star gazing, fire pit setup, cool natural wood picnic table and shelter, convenient walking paths cut through the cool but cactusy ground cover, and especially Paul’s friendly, fast, and thorough communication throughout our planning and stay. It was the perfect setup for our family getaway. We LOVED having a private site to enjoy this beautiful alpine desert and cannot wait to come back.
