This property is an original homestead cabin from the 1800's. It is in the middle of National Forest on 40 private acres with La Garita creek running through. The original cabin is still standing but is mainly used for wood storage. In the 1980's another cabin was built adjoining the original and now serves as a bunk house and has 4 platforms for sleeping bags or air mattresses plus a wood stove. A third 1800's cabin was dismantled from another location and reassembled on the property with a breezeway between the cabins. This cabin has a wood stove, a queen bed, a large dining table, a propane cook stove, a sink that drains outside (no running water), and various pots and pans and cooking utensils.
The road to the cabin is a rough one and requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle or atv, dirtbike, horses, hiking, etc. There is a "trailhead" 4 miles from the cabin where you may leave vehicles and trailers.
