Ten acres overlook the La Plata Mountains outside of Durango, CO. My small farm borders pinyon forest and rings with crickets, redwing blackbirds, and chorus frogs. You can find shady spots in the Forest, the orchard, or enjoy the view from the clearing. The irrigation ditch offers fun for dogs and ambient sounds. This is a working farm, and we are often in the greenhouse and garden. Leashed dogs only to protect wildlife and chickens! You’re likely to see deer, raccoons, foxes, hawks, hummingbirds, and maybe a skunk!Tent Site 1 is a level tent pad tucked up against the back of the property. It is quiet and has a great view of the mountains and surrounding farmland.

Relaxing campsite

This long weekend camping trip was absolutely worth the drive. Lorena, was welcoming and attentive. She reached out before our arrival, expressing her excitement and asking if we needed anything. When I mentioned needing a table, she not only provided one but also graciously delivered it to my campsite. The campsite itself was breathtaking, offering picturesque views from sunset to sunrise. I even captured a timelapse of the sunset. The amenities were well-prepared, with drinking and washing water readily available, propane gas for grilling and cooking, and a convenient portable toilet. We did encounter some friendly deer in the morning and felt safe thanks to the wires. This was a fantastic camping experience, and I highly recommend Lorena's campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway.

Tent Site

Staying at Lo’s farm was a real treat! She and her partner/friends/doggos were very hospitable, kind and a joy to get to know. After a long road trip around the country, ending the journey at their beautiful farm was perfect. From fresh eggs to beautiful views to great hosts, our stay was great. I would highly recommend to fellow hipcampers.

Great view and great location

The view at Lorena's site is amazing! The tent pad was great size and comfortable to sleep on. We were lucky enough to be staying during harvest; so there were fresh veggies available for purchase too. It was pretty close to the activities that we were doing in the Durango area.

Beautiful campsite! I was grateful to be surrounded by peaceful cows all night, too. I felt safe and taken care of, and it’s clear that the host is very intentional with all the amenities that were set up and available to me. I would highly recommend this place for those traveling.

Gorgeous sunsets

Lorena’s land is beautiful. Lots of space to spread out. The sunsets are stunning and she had two big things of water and the portapotta is rustic but when you weren’t expecting one, it was a very pleasant surprise. Also the farm fresh eggs were delicious and only $3 for half dozen. Lorena was a very gracious host- there if you need her but also gives you plenty of privacy. I’d book again.
